Garmin has updated the 2017 Drive range with firmware 3.10
Intersted in the 'improved routing calculations' so will compare my DriveLux 51 with my DriveLuxe50 to see if it offers different routes.
Changes from 2.70 to 3.10 include:
- Improved the performance and reliability of updates over wireless networks (it was much needed!)
- Added support for Swiss LV03 and LV95 coordinate formats
- Improved routing calculations
- Improved pronunciation of some street names (I thought this was more a function of the voice files and the map data)
- Fixed several issues with the display of Arabic text
- Fixed an issue that caused the unit to shut down when connecting to a computer
- Improved software stability _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.80

Hmmm, having travelled to Cornwall and back on the new software, I experienced 3 device crashes that resulted in it re-booting, which I have not had before. Two of these were linked to the driver fatigue alerts - it crashed just after telling me where I could take a break. I can't say I noticed any difference with the speed alerts, but since the device uses the same tone for all alerts, it is difficult to know what it is telling me.
Sorry to hear. Have you reported the issue to Garmin as they need this sort of valuable feedback. If they follow up correctly they will ask you to send in the shutdown logs so they can trace the problem? _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.80

Strange behaviour after a software update is normally cured by a master reset, so I'd try that first. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way.
