I assume this is a wired GPS Mouse but what make is it?
In the GPS Applet, are you getting any indication of communication (scrolling black dots on the 'Status' Tab).
There have been reports of the TomTom GPS Mice and Leadtek GPS Mice failing and this could be your issue here, if it is then it's a warranty call for replacement if still covered. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi Darren
Yes i do have the scrolling black dots on the "status tab" it is a GPS mouse, but the make i don't know, it say nothing on the item (bought it second hand) the only thing i could tell you is what on the plug that connects to the cig lighter, that says it's a Rikaline P/No.A-6017-Q - I-Paq 36xx/37xx
are GPS mouse prone to just failing whilst in the middle of a journey?
cheers

As you have the scrolling dots this confirms communication between GPS and PocketPC is operational.
What settings do you have configured on the GPS Tab in the GPS Applet for this GPS?
I would suggest you place the receiver outside the vehicle if the lead is long enough and give it 30 mins or so to locate the satellites, let me know if you get any indication of satellite reception on the Status Tab, if it is seeing satellites you will see one or more bars on the graph. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi Darren again
settings are from top to bottom :- tick box with tick in it, TomTom Navigator GPS, below that Serial Cable on COM1
d m.m is selected - Kmh is selected
the little picture of the PAD has the slider to the left (with Z z z's) although i've tried it to the right too, with no joy - sound slider is to the right..
worldmap is clear of everything, bottom right is V2.09 305/393
Tried sitting in the car and it didn't find anything on the bars on the status screen
Cheers

Ok, Can you tell me if your GPS is similar to the one reviewed here?
If so, try this:
Untick the box
Change 'TomTom Navigator GPS' to 'NMEA 0183v2 4800'
Re-tick the box and see if this improves matters. If not repeat the above and replce with 'Rikaline GPS-6010. _________________ Darren Griffin |

No trouble at all, what version of the GPS Driver are you using? It should be listed on the 'GPS' tab. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Yes that's the version number.
The latest is v3.03. You might want to visit TomTom's website and update to that. You need the v3.03 update for TomTom Navigator and also the v3.03 update for the GPS Driver.
Get them on this page. _________________ Darren Griffin |
