As I said before, it's probably something to do with the S of SD card. I expect that the Traffic is probably 'locked' to the original card (as would the maps likely be). The hacker has presumably overcome the security on the maps but hasn't hacked the traffic facility.
Yup. the hacker can't sort the traffic, of course, since that's a subscription that's personal to the user.
Whereas the map card is supplied in unactivated state, and will happily activate in any vehicle, but only once.
Presumably the hacker has worked out how to copy the unactivated card, which can't be done using normal tools. but they can't do anything about your traffic, since that's personal to you and is written to the card by the car's nav unit, if you have the licence key. But we aren't given the licence key for our traffic subs, so we can't do that.
