The reason I use an ad blocker isn't so that I don't want to see ads. It is to prevent being tracked from site to site. It is to prevent malware being sneaked onto my computer. It is to reduce the amount of data needed to render a page.

If you want to display adverts on the site, that's fine by me, and ad blockers won't stop that. Just include them in the page content, delivered by your web server. Ad blockers only stop ads served by other servers.

So how about cutting a deal with your advertisers where you display ads as part of this site, and let them have the stats of view numbers, rather than allowing all and sundry to serve content in your pages?

It's not "all and sundry" nor is it as straight forward as that. We use Google AdSense because they handle the bidding processes and ad serving etc without us having to waste hours and hours managing it directly.

You could always use 'Do Not Track' in your browser and opt-out of personalised ads by clicking the top right corner of any Google ad. You can also adjust settings at https://adssettings.google.com if you have a Google account.

I to use Adblock mainly because a couple of local papers are unable to format their web pages correctly. When the adverts are being displayed it makes the news text jump up and down so I block the Ads. In the case of Pocket GPSW I have set Adblock as disabled on your pages but for some reason it's still blocking. Anybody have any suggestions why as in the past ads on PGPSW havn't bothered me.
FYI I'm using AdBlock 3.8.0

I've just installed AdBlock 3.8 on Firefox (WIndows) and with it disabled it's showing the ads correctly here :/ Maybe try removing then re-adding the add-on?

MaFt

PS - our local paper is the same - it's impossible to read with all the video pop ups, background image adverts and various things jumping around!

Thanks for the prompt reply MaFt so I've tried your suggestion but it's still blocking. When I right click the AdBlock Icon (top right of the page) it shows "AdBlock disabled on this page" !!!
I've got banners blocked via my Kaspersky Internet security, would the web page note this as an Ad blocker.
FYI I've included PGPSW as an exception for popups in Firefox

You need to disable for the domain, not just the page.

Thanks but done that. Each page in the pocketgpsworld.com domain is showing "AdBlock is disabled on this page." but it's still informing me I'm using an AdBlocker.
I'm trying to remember where the adverts were. Were they down both sides of the main text ? if they were they are being blocked.
The PGPSW adverts are showing in the right hand column except the bottom one headed "GPS Shopping" where there is now the text about AdBlocker

Well, disable AdBlock altogether and see where the ads are and if you are still getting the ad blocking message. If you are, then you have another ad blocker running as well as AdBlock. (don't say "No I haven't", because you likely have. It's just a matter of finding it).
I have turned off AdBlock for the PGPSW domain and no longer get the ad blocking message.

PS. Have you got AdBlock or AdBlock+? They are two entirely different apps.

I only run Privacy Badger and AdBlock+ on Firefox (Android and Desktop)

Since whitelisting Adblock+ all I get is the top banner telling me to go to Orlando.

...and no blocking message

Finally got Adblocker to work correctly after 3 re-installs and todays update.
The only 2 domains allowed past adblock (at the moment) are PocketGPSWorld's and MaFt's NewonNetflixuk.
I occasionally switch it off on the local news papers but they are still using amateurs to format their web pages so I switch AdBlocker back on
