We know TT stopped doing this some time ago but here's an alternative cheapest-fuel-finder https://www.petrolprices.com/ |

Thanks. The way Martin Lewis was shouting about this I thought it was something new but at least "it does what it says on the tin" |

For a long time now, I have shut my mind to the obsession with cheap fuel prices. It seems to me that people look no further than the pump price to consider fuel economy. And yet, they all have a fuel saver under their right foot, without having to go online and/or divert off route.
If I thrash my vehicle at 70mph, I get only 10 miles per litre. If I relax at 65mph I get 12 miles per litre. The difference with a 50 litre fuel fill is 100 miles. _________________ Dennis

I can't disagree, Dennis.
But it's not a choice of cheap fuel OR better fuel economy. They can be used in conjunction with one another. And, if enough people do it,, buying cheap fuel may encourage the more expensive garages to reduce their prices. So everyone wins! _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

5p per litre difference 20 years ago when fuel was 50p per litre was a decent 10% saving.
These days with an average of about 120p per litre is a saving of 4%. It's really not worth it in my opinion - especially if it means an extra 20 minute drive to save that 4%
In terms of full tank price, my Focus holds about 50 litre so at 120p/L costs £60. if I find it 5p cheaper then the full tank costs me £57.50. That's only 2.50 cheaper.
Still, this site is useful if you have a few petrol stations nearby you (which I don't...) and you have the ability to shop around without wasting fuel in the process.
