Hi Everyone, I have a problem with Garmin 61. I have subscribed to photolive but I am unable to get the traffic cams to come up and change.
First of all I downloaded traffic cams to my Garmin, it would only hold 50 and would not show them as I drove along the M25. I phoned Garmin up and was told that it would hold much more than 50 and to put a card inside, which I did. After reading the instructions somewhere online, I saved over 100 cameras on the three motorways I drive to my phone instead. If I clicked Photolive on the satnav, it would say loading and would not change. Perhaps I loaded to many so I removed most of them to leave only 10 but still it would only say loading with a spinning circle. Sometimes it would say no cameras on the road ahead, yet I know there are as I pass them and they also show on the map. If I tap find camera I can get camera's which I have saved to come up, but would show the M25 one's first, but thats no good if I am on the M4 as I would have to scroll down and would still not change as I past. As far as I understand, if I have saved them, they would come up on the Garmin and when I pass, it would change to the next, perhaps I am wrong. Do I save them to the phone , Garmin or both? Garmin have said to send a screen capture but I can't see what that would do, I told them it would just say loading. Am I doing something wrong or is there a fault?
Grateful for any help you can give.
Thank you

Hi, Thanks for getting back so quick. I am not sure what you mean by contained in a single .GPI file.
How I have saved them up to now , I go to Garmin Smartphone on my Nokia, click on photolive cameras and click add camera, that saves all of the cameras I want to my phone, it saves with a red heart alongside it. When I put my Garmin on it links up with my smartphone, is this the wrong way to do it. If I click on find camera, it would bring up the traffic cams that show what the traffic is like, I would then have to sort them for the road I am driving on but it would not change as I pass them.
Do I save the traffic cameras to my phone or satnav? how do I save them.
I don't think Photolive works in quite the way you are expecting and the 'spinning wheel' suggests that you're not getting a data connection. The 'spinning wheel' can be present for quite some time to get the data from Garmin's servers and those, like me, who have subscribed to Garmin's services in the past will testify. _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.80

Hello
The Garmin I have is a Drivesmart 61 LMT-D. It will say loading with the spinning circle for 5 - 10 minutes, I can drive a long way in that time passing many traffic cams with it saying loading. It would then say no cameras found on the road ahead yet they show on the map in blue as I pass them. If I save to the Garmin, I can only get about 50, but it will still will not load. Do I save to my phone using smartlink or to the Garmin. When I save to my phone, it will put a red heart alongside them so I presume it has been saved ok, and as I said, they then show on the map
Thank you

I'm not sure you'll get the best advice here. I can't recall anyone here using traffic cameras via smart link. Most here are more involved with speed camera etc locations. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way.

Hello Thank you for that. I was hoping that someone in the Forum would have the Garmin Drivesmart 61 LMT-D. I know that some other Garmins can do it as well. I like the idea of seeing what the traffic is like in front of me. As far as I understand, as I come up to a traffic cam, it would show me the traffic and when I pass it would bring up the next traffic camera ahead, even if miles in front. I have saved to my phone and also saved to the Garmin, but saving to the Garmin, only lets me save 50 camera's. There is one thing I have not tried yet, on my phone, I have just seen that I can put them in order, perhaps that might make a difference, maybe it is taking a long time to load as it is sorting them out. But then that would not explain why, after the Garmin says loading for a long time, it would say no camera's on the road ahead, but it would show them on the map

I have one, but I haven't tried the smartlink or whatever it's called.

Like suss said, not heard of anyone using that facility here. But let us know how you get on as it might be interesting for others.
