|
|
I have downloaded the latest camera database to my computer W10 FF.
When I connect the 2589 to the PC the POI loader screen doesn't pop up.
Did a search and it seems there was a problem back in 2015 with a dodgy Time Zone download but I can't see anything else and I've updated the database since then!.
Any suggestions or help please. |

POI Loader won't pop up when you connect your device, or did you mean Express? _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

... and Express only pops up if you've allowed it to run in the background _________________ Satnav:

I use Kremmen's tutorial...
POI loader is installed and sox.exe added
After downloading and unzipping PGPSW .......
Connect your Garmin and wait for it to be recognised.......
which should show a Garmin POI loader screen with "please select where you would like to save your custom POIs"
It's this bit that doesn't pop up. |

Correct, it doesn't. POILoader is a manual start.
I must check the tutorial........
...........this is what I've got, with a "Start POILoader":

How about making POILoader automatically start. User can always close it if not required at that time? |

I need to check.
After processing, some use the text change screen so an auto POILoader start needs to be optional.
What do others reckon ? _________________ Satnav:

I'm ok with it now, but an autostart wouldn't worry me. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

But having POILoader running does not preclude the text editing facility, just click CSV converter to the front if POILoader 'takes over'. |

What about a button to launch POILoader.
Or, a popup that gives the option, yes or not yet. _________________ Satnav:

Popup sounds good to me. Launch POILoader and close CSV converter? |

Yes or no option seems reasonable to me !!
People will probably need a prompt for them to plug in their Garmin device, so as to receive the output from PoiLoader.

Apologies I posted in haste without too much thought. I see it has raised some interest though!
I have now got POI loader on the taskbar and desktop so can load it from there. Or this not the way to do it?
Edit: are we discussing the same thing as CSV to GPX was mentioned above but I was referring to Kremmen's PGPSW Camera to Garmin (spoon fed version)? |

Yes, look what you've started
No problem. Looks like the majority are in favour and it's not that difficult.
I may have to get some feedback for the 32bit v 64bit POILoader.exe location but other than that, fairly easy. _________________ Satnav:
