Just an update - we are still to-ing and fro-ing with Apple at the moment, but we hope that all will be OK very soon.
Sincere apologies for the delay and inconvenience. _________________ Robert Brady |

I have a little sympathy for PocketGPSworld as part of the problem lies with Apple. However, as Cameralert hasn’t been updated for years and years then my sympathy is limited - personally, I’ve been asking for updates to iron out bugs for over 18 months now.
Notwithstanding all of the above, I still have an ongoing subscription that is quite useless. No matter where the problem lies, it doesn’t sort out the subscription problems and PocketGPSworld should reflect these problems by either suspending subscriptions or offering extensions. My contract is with PocketGPSworld and from my perspective, I’m currently paying for fresh air and arguing about who is to blame does not help me one tiny bit. |

Just to balance that, I have been using CamerAlert for years, and I think it’s brilliant. There are some mods I would like but if it simply carries on as it is, I am content. I think the average speed feature in particular is a stroke of genius. Since the iPhone version the ease of data update (and the weekly reminder) have led me to leave my Garmin in the glovebox. So keep up the good work. |

I’m not saying Cameralert isn’t good - outdated interface perhaps but nonetheless still good. I also acknowledge the problems being experienced getting the GPS issue fixed. The point I was making is that this doesn’t help me, and others, who have a current subscription with PocketGPSworld that at the moment, is quite frankly useless. It doesn’t matter whose fault it is as that doesn’t help the users. If this goes on for another 3 months or do then is a refund going to be offered?
Going back to my first line - yes the interface is outdated so a few tweaks to bring it up to date for 2017 would not go amiss. On a personal note, all I’m asking for is the ability to switch off the voice of the female update - not to remove it for all those who want to retain it, just the option to switch it off for all the subscribers that wish to do so.
Anyway, until the GPS issue is fixed, there’s no point in dong anything as the APP isn’t working. |

I must admit that going back to my Garmin to use the database has no retro charm, but at least there is a workaround. |

The way I’m getting around the problem at the moment is that I’ve dug out my old TomTom 730 and loaded the latest database, and this will have to suffice until CamerAlert is again up and running.
It’s a workaround, yes, and a tad inconvenient, but I’m hoping I won’t be using it for long!

Only a workaround if you have an old TomTom/Garmin - for the rest of us mere mortals that might not be the case. I’m in the latter category. |
