I've installed the app to replace my GO 720 which has died. Is it possible to save favorite locations as POIs sorted into folders like I did on the old device.
I've started putting some into "My Places" but the list is already getting long. _________________ TT Go Essential

Hi Calomax,
I have iOS GO Mobile on my iPhone, which I believe is much less developed than Android GO Mobile. I will do my best to answer but bear in mind that there are differences between GO Mobile iOS, Android, and the PNDs.
I do not think that you can load POIs (i.e. separate categories) into a folder on Android GO Mobile, like you used to on the old legacy iOS app and presumably the old Android app. Instead you must use "MyDrive".
Now, I can't tell you anything about "MyDrive" because that is one of the (many) features that doesn't exist on iOS GO Mobile. However I believe that whilst you can load POIs into MyDrive, you won't see icons of POIs on screen (either map view or whilst navigating) and all POIs merge into one pot with no distinction of categories.
Please have a look at TomTom's own MyDrive webpage for further information. Also I wouldn't mind you feed back on how MyDrive works!
A few days ago Bo Peep and I returned from a two week holiday in the Channel Islands (Jersey) and whilst we were there we found that traffic worked well on iOS GO Mobile.
Finally, I would really like to know what you think about Android GO Mobile as I've been using iOS GO Mobile since the day it was released (i.e. over 18 months) and it is truly one of the most awful SatNav apps that I have ever used! I rely on accurate custom POIs so whilst on Jersey I used my old TomTom iOS legacy app and a new Garmin Camper 770 LMT-D PND.

Thanks Robert, I'll have a look at that website. In the meantime, I have only been playing with the android app for a few days and it's very different to my GO720 to use. So far, now I'm getting to grips with it, it seems pretty good.
As for MyDrive, it does allow you to find locations on the map and save them to My Places but it seems to be cumbersome and, if you find a place you don't want to save, the only way I've found to do another search is to save it in My Places then remove it again. You can also plan a route and send it to the device to use. And I think you're supposed to be able to save routes for future use but, when I look in Saved Routes, it's empty.
So, as with most things, some of the features are great and others not as good. The ability to subscribe for a month at a time is great for me as I only use it two or three times a year. But I've found a company that will repair my old 720 reasonably so I'm going to send it off. TT Support offered me 25% off a new one which dropped it to Amazon's price but I said I was going to keep using the app so they gave me three months free unlimited mileage subscription. _________________ TT Go Essential
