I am curious as to why any of you have any interest in knowing where on the road network speed enforcement might be taking place (why you support a system that has enabled people like me to more readily define my own 'safespeed')? - I love pocket GPS
You all seem content that the number in the red circle is ALWAYS the right upper maximum (without really asking why - except that slower is better for some reason). You should not need ANY other data to drive your cars!!!
Oh and when (if ever) will the ongoing and arbitrary adjustment of the limits and enforcement thresholds downward finally trigger some kind of thought that perhaps you are being treated unreasonably?
Finally a wager: You don't really 'get' driving. It's chore isn't it for you? Its been a policy driver for a few decades to reduce its appeal (to encourage 'modal shift' to public transport) and recently I'd say its working even on me. I now drive TO places to 'drive' and avoid SMART motorways etc when possible. A huge part of the process of reducing appeal was always lower speed limits and reducing the flexibility and freedom of 'personalised transport'.
I think you'd all be happier on a bus |

Oh how wrong can people be. I've rallied and am blue light trained. A few weekends ago I was driving Aston Martins, Audis and Ferraris around Goodwood racing circuit. I've always had a passion for driving since I learnt to drive in a landrover when I was 18.
I've also picked up the bits when folks who think they know how to drive suddenly realise they don't ... or in many cases don't realise for long as they're deceased by the time I get there.

Hey Sussamb, I had a blue light ride a few weeks ago when a drunk driver and I had a coming together. Would've been really exciting if only the blue light driver had been trained not to take rough roads at speed and sharp bends on two wheels (it was abroad, you know what these foreigners are like!). _________________ Dennis

Guess the drunk driver didn't believe in limits on things either _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

He strongly disbelievd in alcohol limits - he blew six times the limit.
And, by the way, I was pestrianising at the time. And I'll be off work for at least 12 weeks. _________________ Dennis
