Just got a Garmin Drive LMT-D 50 and I'm trying to get the Lizzie voice on it. It appears that the Mp3 files for Liz, have to be converted to VPM files.
Any ideas ? |

What are you trying to do ?
Garmin uses WAV for POI's.
If it's to replace the navigation instructions then use one of the other voice selections as they have other required properties. _________________ DashCam:

I've loaded the Mp3 files for Liz's voices in a folder with the camera database, but they do not play. Am I doing it wrong !
Thanks. |

Right , thanks. Can I download Liz.wav files, or do I have to convert the Mp3's. I only have Liz in Mp3 format.
I'm OK using the POI loader.
Thanks. |

Use the female voicepack that comes with the download. They are far clearer than Liz IMO. _________________ DashCam:

Great help. Thanks.
I started from scratch and it all works!
My previous device was a Nuvi - and Liz gave the actual speed limits. I'm not too keen on just being told that there's a 'fixed camera ahead', but I can live with it!
And what happened to Daniel? A real gent !
Anyway, thanks for your help. |

?
The voices downloaded with the cameras from here - include the spoken speed limits, exactly as you want.
"Fixed speed camera ahead, fifty miles per hour"
Now you have that sorted why not try my CSV to GPX Converter to give far more customisation. Download the package and read the manual first:

The voices have stopped working again!
This SatNav comes with Garmins speed and safety camera alerts installed. I don't want to subscribe to them, as I want the pgpsw database.
Could the garmin database be conflicting with the pgpsw database? |

Possibly, although you should get two warnings. If you don't want the Garmin ones delete the relevant files in the POI folder on the device, they are normally obvious from their names. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Moved their camera warning file off the device. Then followed the idiots guide and started again - nothing different! - but then I noticed that my selection - Garmin POI - Speed Zoned Complete- plus a female voice with chime, gave me the voices in mp3 format.
When I added Liz's files in wav format it all worked!
So thanks for your help and patience and fingers crossed !! |
