I was referring to the claim that he was the first to report, or not. _________________ DashCam:

If he didn't get free subs, then he wasn't. |

They're OK, they don't have mobile ones on I don't believe. A risk with PGPSW mobile ones is that every bridge on the motorway beeps!
Also they are £60 for official map updates and £50 for TomTom Live. It's because it's built in they know they can shaft you ! |

Maybe you were, maybe you weren't. Are you a fully paid up member?
This is getting tedious. |

At last, we can all relax. That's why you didn't get it even if you were the first.
Presumably you didn't read the 'qualifying' rules? abx wrote: | A risk with PGPSW mobile ones is that every bridge on the motorway beeps! | The greater risk is not being warned and being caught by one. |

Ah, so you need to have paid already to then get an extra free year. Oh well. Bit of a naff deal and poor incentive to non-paid members . Ah well. Hopefully it stops someone getting points anyway. |

Enough now! For many years, TomTom (and others) produced satnavs with camera databases for which they charged. They invited users to report cameras with absolutely no incentive, not even accreditation for reports.
By contrast, as soon as PGPSW introduced charges, they also introduced the incentive of free membership for reports (Ts&Cs apply). It meant that PGPSW continued to run the best available database. It still is. So TT now give free cameras. Still no incentives for reporting and no longer warning of mobile sites. I know a PGPSW member who decided to turn off warnings for mobiles because he wanted to stop the warnings "at every motorway bridge" - an untrue detail and he paid the price of fine and points when he drove under the motorway bridges of the M4 at Swindon.
Threads like this one have in the past created page after page of to and fro. Please let's drop it now. Let those who like the TomTom free offerings do so, whilst the rest of us live in greater security under the best DB. _________________ Dennis

abx wrote: | Hello there
I submitted a brand new speed camera that was not showing on the map. I submitted this perhaps 2 weeks ago, which was about 1 day after the camera went up.
The camera is now showing on the map but I did not receive a 12 month subscription email. Is there anything that might cause it to not assign the 12 month membership? I also took photos of the camera in situ for additional proof if required?
Thanks in advance |
Someone submitted it 6 hours before you. |

Not a paid member |
And even if you were first, you wouldn't have qualified. The rules state clearly that you need to be a paid up member at the time of submission and at the time of activation.
