yes, it mentions User defined POIs.
It also appears that the manual says that you can save down routes onto the sd card and that the format it saves them down is GPX (GPS Exchange format) on the SD card. I must have missed that the first time I searched.
Perhaps what I should do, is put in a destination address, and click save onto card and see what happens?
I could then post what is saved down and reverse engineer it? |

For normal Garmin PND's the GPX entries, one line for each camera, is quite large as you can imagine.
Including all camera categories you are looking at over 10,000+ lines of data.
Garmin compress all that into the GPI file which makes sense.
Your approach of trying get a small sample POI to work is the right one to start with. _________________ DashCam:

I tried to save down a POI, and I was still taking a very long time to save without saving it successfully.
Instead of saving it was saying Importing Data (this may take several minutes).
I thought this might be an issue with the sd card and then I added a few mp3 files and those are recognised and played when you click the Media button and choose Memory card from the Screen console.
So clearly the SD card is not at fault here and can be read.
As a last result, I added one gpx file, and left it in there for 15 minutes. Still waiting now to see what what will happen.
It's unusable if it takes this long to load a single gpx file. |

or support from the dealer to be honest.
The problem that I'm facing is that a lot of people have been successful, but I think they have been successful with NTG 4.5. Mine is NTG 5.5 |

I looked at the first post and noted the gpx: tags. They are different to the wpt format. _________________ DashCam:
