I recently had a battery failure in my Ipaq 3970 which effectively wiped out all my programs. I tried to re-install TT3 but it would not read the UK map despite attempting to load it 3 times. Running on ROM 2.0 I then thought i may be a good idea to take the opportunity to upgrade and having gone to the HP website ended up buying the PC 2003 upgrade. However I then also read somewhere else that 3970 + PC2003 upgrade + TT3 may not be totally compatible.
Before I insert the disc and start the upgrade process I would welcome feedback from anyone who has done the upgrade as to how well it has worked and if the system is stable.
Many thanks

PC2003 and TT3 works fine but I don't know about the 3970 bit. Did you perform a hard reset before you tried reloading the software?

I have ttn3 and Ipaq 4700 with emtac bluetooth. GPs 3 or 3.03 did't work.
I never could see outbonding port ( com8) but GPS 2.07 works fine

i take it you installed the tomtom 3.03 update after you installed tomtom?
i had a similar problem with maps
i would install tt3 then update it and then install the maps again and see what happens. _________________ Ipaq 3970, Ipaq 2210 X2, Smart ST V1, Tomtom V3+V5, CoPilot V5, AA Navigator, Tomtom Bluetooth GPS, Navman 3450i Jacket, Navman Bluetooth GPS, Holux GM270, Fortuna GPS-PocketXtrack

Hi
I found patch for TomTom GPS ( for ipaq 4700 and rx3715) in the www.pocketpc-club.nl.
Now GPS 3.03 works fine and both TeleType GPS and finnish genimap Navigator ´works with Emtac Bluetooth in my ipaq 4700. I hope that I don't need 2.07 anymore. _________________ lapinjatka

@ llapinjatka
I have downloaded the patch, could you please post the instructions on how to install the patch, as an online translation of the web page was very difficult to understand.
TIA

Hi
Simply copy cab-file to pocket-pc (any place, included storage card) and run cab (click it on explorer) ( first install GPS 3.03) _________________ lapinjatka

|

My copy of TTN3.03 when used on an iPaq rx4700 appears not to work well.. During a journey where TTN is working fine, every 10 minutes the screen saver on the ipaq comes on, meaning I have to touch the ipaq's screen to revert back to TTN. Is this a problem encountered by anyone? Or am I dumb and not pressing the right buttons? |

Point and hold screen, probably in the left upper corner. Then you can put automatic load off. _________________ lapinjatka

Thanks for the hint / help. It seems that a piece of software that comes with the ipaq called "Dockware" automatically loads itself on the ipaq screen over-riding any programs! I have sinced turned this feature off as you suggested by pressing and holding while the dockware screen saver is on, then disabling it etc.
Apart from that, TTN3.03 works OK for me on an iPaq rx4700 apart from the occasional message telling me that TTN may not display correctly on the higher resolution screen ie; 640x480. Please note that I am a fan of WIRED Tomtom GPS as this works without any problems - I have no faith in bluetooth 8-(
Thanks lapinjatka for your help!
Regards
