|
|
I've got a tomtom bluetooth GPS receiver and their tomtom3 software for my PDA (IPAQ). what I need to know is, is there any way of using this hardware with other software in the USA? I know tomtom don't use version 3 in the US so it seems that is out of the question but will other manufacturers software work with this kit or is it all proprietary?
If I uninstalled tomtom3 would I be able to use tomtom2 if I bought it, then go back to tomtom3 when I come back to the UK?
TIA

I don't know too much about Tomtom, but your receiver will certainly work with other software. I don't see why you shouldn't be able to use V2 over there and then reinstall V3 when you get back. After all, if you've bought the software, it's yours. _________________ Tim |

How long are you going for, are you in one area only, will you have internet access there? _________________ Tim |

Then it might be worth looking at www.mapopolis.com. They will let you 'Try before you buy', the maps lasting nine days. I *think* that is nine days from activation, but you have time to find out. _________________ Tim |
