So far I can't see any difference from the previous software, the Chinese alerts are still there.
 |
Cheers. I don't have the Chinese characters after I followed the instructions on the other thread. |

Hi, Scottief,
Can you share the link to the page you pasted?
I can't find it anywhere!

I thought the Chinese issue had been solved by removal of a few font files.
I'll guess that the update puts them back _________________ DashCam:

Because:
a. I was referring to the Merc Downloader screenshot.
b. I couldn't find it because I was working on my iMac.
c. The Merc downloader won't work on my iMac and I needed to swop to my iMacs Windows 7 partition where the programme resides.
d. It was late and I was ready for bed!
So, if I confused anyone, then profuse apologies! |

Apologies not really needed Chris.
(d) is by far the best reason. I know how you feel sometimes after a hard day foruming. |

So, here we go.....
Pgpsw files loaded on the wonderful Garmin / Mercedes satnav. Best I could by following the excellent advice here on the forum.
A quick local run out this evening resulted in the system hanging....
The big test starts tomorrow, when we're off on a short break for a few days up to Scotland, near to Dunbar.....
Plus, I want to get there my way, the beautiful colourful journey up and across from Newcastle, Staffordshire, NOT via Newcastle on Tyne!!
So, will I get there and back suitably informed when / where there may be a "danger area"?
Here's hoping!!! |

Since purchasing new card with 2016/2017 map and now ver 9.0 software, I no longer have live traffic update.
When going to that section in settings it says no subscription TomTom.
Would this subscription be on the original card that came with the car, which had 2015/2016 Map and ver 5.1 software. |

I've had that issue previously, I had to take it in to a dealer to correct it. |

Thanks, I've emailed them this morning and waiting on a reply.
There is a xml file called TrafficProvider on the old card and wondered if it was just a case of copying that file onto the new card, but did not want to risk it.
Have since backed it up so may give it a try if I don't hear back. |
