I have recently received notifications saying that the app will not work with upcoming iOS releases. Is development still ongoing with this app ?
The last update on the app store was in October 2015 and the cameraalert.com website still talks about the app now being suitable for iOS7 when obviously the current version is iOS10 with iOS11 only being a few months away.
I do love this app but it appears to have been forgotten, do I need to look for an alternative?

There's no ETA for updates at the moment. If you rely on CamerAlert then I would recommend not updating to iOS 11 straight away.

That's disappointing to hear. I won't hold off updating iOS for one app though when there is no ETA on when or even if it will be updated. Time to find something else. |

Good luck with finding something else. I was looking for something that would cover Spain and France on Android as I subscribe to Spanish and French camera databases respectively. Most link to databases that have limited or out of date information. |

I have TomTom too and their database is pretty good and generally up to date. At least it will work with iOS11 and they are continuing to develop it. |

Why is CamerAlert now effectively in a state of suspended animation? _________________ Galaxy Note 4 / TomTom GO : CamerAlert : CoPilot |

In the absence of a definitive answer from PGPSW, I would guess that the Developer/s is/are in a state of suspended animation.
My problem is that (long ago) I bought an iPhone completely (and solely) in order to run CamerAlert. However, now, I am hooked on the iPhone, so the alternative seems to be a cheapo Android second phone - is there such a thing? _________________ Dennis

You can buy basic Android tablets for about £30 that will allow you to run CA. I found this out when my old Sonos controllers packed up! |
