|
|
Good Morning all!
I wonder if someone can help a noob out please! I bought a vista HCx about 7 years ago and have only used it occasionally. However, I want to do some more walking around the UK, and possibly explore some European cities.
At the moment, it seems to have an old TOPO UK map installed on the Micro SD, which is great but very out of date.
Could someone please let me know how I go about obtaining new maps and the process of installing them? Thanks so much in advance!
Cheers
Jim

Try https://talkytoaster.co.uk/
Superb uk maps. They show lots of info and knock the garmin topo of the map!
Have checked in the sites compatabilty table and as long as your sd card is big enough it will be OK for your etrex.
The site does two maps a free version which is very good and I recommend you try it first and 1:50k version which is not free and is excellent but do some walks on free first.
It is an excellent and I suggest you explore it.
For overseas Garmin maps try http://alternativaslibres.org/en/
Also excellent
Kind regards

There are loads of free OSM maps for your Garmin. Just Google Garmin OSM maps. I've tried many over the years and my favourite now is from CacheMapUK. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |
