Hi all,
I've seen a few posts regarding crashing of TTN3, but I'm not sure what to try next to solve the problems. Here's a description of my probs in case someone can help.
Setup :
- Acer n10 running Windows Mobile 2003
- TomTom Navigator 3.03 with GPS update 3.03
- Kingmax Platinum 512Mb SD card
- Haicom HI-303CF GPS
TomTom maps are on the SD card. I've tried installing TomTom software in the main memory and on the SD card, but I get the same results, which are random lock ups. I'll be driving along just fine, when suddenly the map and speed stops updating. After this point the PDA normally stops responding and I can't do anything except push the reset button on the back when I next pull over Not ideal for navigating...
I've tried soft resetting the PDA before running TomTom, but it doesn't make any difference.
Any thoughts on what might be causing this? I've read a few posts about memory cards, but I wanted to check for opinions before I go any buy another card.

I had the exact same thing happen to me when I was using a CF Card GPS system from Holux. I subsequently found out that it was a incompatibilty with the CF Slot and the CF Card, causing the GPS to bomb out and hang.
Holux asked me to use the latest GPS driver Update from Tom Tom as this sometimes solves this. I tried this but it didn't help me. I returned it and bought a wired version which sorted the problem out.
Have you tried another CF card to see if that helps?
Thanks for the tip - I hadn't considered that it might be the GPS (oops ). I'll get in touch with Haicom and see if they've any tips.
Unfortunately I can't use a wired GPS with my PDA (it's a USB slave only, not a master), but I've been thinking about going down the bluetooth route so that I can get TomTom Traffic too.
