Well I'm sorry but the fault must lie with you as they work for all of us.
Are you certain that in Settings that Garmin alerts are disabled and custom alerts both showing and enabled?
As for the other warnings, you cannot switch them off, all you can do is switch off the warning tones. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way.

Interesting .....
The 50 isn't working for you either, but, is for others.
What are you doing differently, if anything, to cause your issue ?
Baffling. _________________ DashCam:

Try following the steps here http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=97158
I think the problems still being experienced when others don't have issues suggests (though of course until we get a positive we can't confirm that) that Garmin haven't 'scuppered' 3rd party cameras on the 2017 models. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Correct me if I'm wrong (again) but, we know the 50 units are OK but this years units are the 51 and 61 which we still don't know. _________________ DashCam:

Agreed, but the only report we've had that they don't work is by sealion who can't get the cameras to work on the 2016 models, which we know do work, so I suspect, though can't prove, that the 2017 models should also be ok. What we now need is to resolve sealions issue, as there must be one, and hopefully get assurances from BAVC10 that he's got them to work on his new 51 model. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Guys, appreciate all the help however I have been using Garmin products, Nuvi's and PGPSW files for more than ten years so I think I know how to load and use Custom POI's.
Just finished yet another 90 min call to Garmin and they are being a bit evasive. They do firstly acknowledge that if Audible Proximity alerts are 'greyed out' then nothing should be seen or heard.
Secondly, I am only guessing by what I am being told, that it is possible that some 50 units do NOT have the ability to show Third Party POI's. I am assuming that the date of manufacture could explain any differences. |

I've only just got mine and it works fine
Also, I hate to disagree with Garmin Support but having Audible Proximity alerts set to none only affects custom POIs, you will still hear alerts for bends, school zones etc. They have a separate setting. However I'm not clear what you mean by 'grayed out'. If it is actually 'grayed out' this indicates you have no custom POIs loaded. That itself is strange as your device should have come with Garmin's own speed cams installed and showing in Settings, Proximity Alerts, Alerts.
Furthermore I'm on numerous Garmin forums, and no one else is reporting any issues with speed camera files. That's not to say you're wrong, but so far you're the only one with the issue. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

i got mine in december 2016 and works fine for pgpsw cameras - as with others i use kremmen's brilliant piece of software for these.
do the icons actually show on the display? or do you get a little flag (means bmp incorrect size)?
have you tried other poi's - i use the railways poi which gives a train whistle when approaching level crossings.
install other poi's and see if they show on the map
also if you have ever reinstalled the poi loader app, have you remembered to copy sox.exe back into the folder
remember after installing or updating the poi that you reboot the device |

I was going to post similar regarding POILoader.
Does it recognise the new device, does it say xxxxx POi's successfully loaded and without the error message when sox isn't where it should be.
Then, while still plugged into the PC can you find the GPI file under POI. _________________ DashCam:

I've just put the speedcams on my new Driveluxe 50, but there's no sound, just a faint boing. There were no error messages and the speed camera icons are showing on the map. I did download the voice alerts with the cameras and I have proximity alerts for custom POI's turned on. Did I read somewhere that we need to load the database onto a memory card instead and if so, how does one do it (I didn't see any options for that in POI loader)? By the way, I did copy SOX into the POI loader before doing all this. |

I was going to upload an image of what I can see in Windows Explorer, but I can't see anyway to do it. |

No, it works perfectly well from the device.
Incidentally at least you're getting a warning, sealion says it doesn't work at all, so clearly that's wrong _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way.

So once the full initial backup is done as per my other thread you kindly helped me with, do I then have to copy something to the micro SD card to get the voice alerts to work for the speed cameras? Also, I seem to have something in my mind from quite a while ago that there was a compatibility issue with wav or mp3 files. Have a imagined it or could that be relevant here (I notice that all the files are mp3s)? |

sealion said the Garmin Support said it would't work. But clearly, that's wrong. |
