A driver from Lowestoft, Suffolk has been accused of ten speeding offences in the space of just six weeks.
The majority of the alleged offences were caught by average speed cameras on the A14 at the Orwell Bridge, just south of Ipswich - the point-to-point cameras were first activated in July.
Mercedes driver, 42-year-old Yilmaz Kalayci, faces 10 offences of speeding, two occurring on the same day. The highest alleged speed was 90mph on a 60mph stretch.
Mr Kalayci is set to appear at South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court in Ipswich on March 24th.

Unless he's going to try and beat that 62 point driver. _________________ Satnav:

I'd love to know how someone can accrue that many points without losing their licence, as they're are apparently a further 3 motorists still driving around with 51, 42 and 39 points _________________ Galaxy Note 4 / TomTom GO : CamerAlert : CoPilot |

All I can think of is that the magistrates don't know the drivers history so are treating each one on a case by case basis. _________________ Satnav:

Surely the magistrate knows the history - that's how they know to issue a ban for topping up. And I thought it was normal to hide the records until the verdict comes in then consider the records at sentencing stage.
The way they get so many without being banned is by successfully pleading that if they get banned they'll suffer terrible hardship. _________________ Dennis

Which, in my book, is a good reason to ban them on the basis they knew the risks when they sped, umpteen times.
You will be taken from here to a place of execution ............... _________________ Satnav:

Really? I can understand perhaps that happening the first time they go over 12 points since there may be extenuating circumstances depending on how they accrued the points but surely after that there should be no leeway given _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

If I was a magistrate there wouldn't be any leeway. If there's any gap between points they've already had the warning. The only SLIGHT consideration is this guy seems to be getting all his points at one time. Nevertheless, ten times isn't just "inadvertently, unintentionally, slightly, drifting", it's deliberate speeding, nothing less.
The thing that bothers me is apparently a ban clears the points so once the ban ends they're free to start topping up again - I'd leave them with nine so that a repeat gets them off the road again. _________________ Dennis

Most people would be suffering terrible hardship from 62 points with of fines alone, but the cost clearly doesn't deter him. _________________ Galaxy Note 4 / TomTom GO : CamerAlert : CoPilot |

How do you get car insurance with 62 points? Can you imagine filling out the convictions boxes? _________________ Garmin Drivesmart 51 LMT-D Europe |

You just don't declare them. After all, you're such a good driver that you'll never need the insurance! _________________ Dennis
