|
|
I have just downloaded the latest version of TOMTOM for the T3 which allows third party POI's with audible warning. I would now like to down load the Safety Camera POI's but can't find out how to do it. Does PocketGPS support the T3 for this purpose?

Well managed to work it out after reading through threads.
Downloaded the safety camera database from here put them on the sd card in card reader , made sure that I copied and pasted the relevant ov files in to the gb map and there it was in the pda.
Just tried it out with some local gatso"s works fine. |

Rusty,
Any chance you can give a bit more detail on what you did? For instance the PocketGPS data base is a csv file and the T3 is looking for an ov2 file.

Calum,
If you unzip the download and extract all files you will see the ov files , I copied and pasted them and the bitmap file to the gb map file.

Step 1
Make sure you know how to copy files directly to the SD card. To do this you either need a card reader or you need to download software that will mount the SD card as a USB drive when the T3 is sitting in its cradle. I use software called Card Export from www.softick.com.
Step 2
UnZip the POI database files. Then you only need to copy the .bmp and .ov2 files into GB Navigator Map directory you will find on the SD card.
Step 3
You can import the .xls files into MS Autoroute if you have it. |

On my system the ov2 files were not shown as such in the normal file manger window but you can recognise them as they have a tomtom icon. it is those and the BMP files you need to copy across.
Works great, |

Help! Very frustrated with my basic IT skills. Can anyone walk me through the process of transfering the Speed Camera POI's onto my SD card. I have downloaded the 4.40 patch and the UKGPS files, unzipped them and that's as far as I get. Have read you emails and dowloaded the card export software but when I start it from the palm an error message appears on the PC saying that the palm is not found. Everyone else seems to be getting on with this apart from me. Any mentors out there would be much appreciated - I'm ready to learn!! |
