|
|
Hi. Not sure if anyone can help with this. I have a Nuvi3598 and it has just started to misbehave. It no longer throws up the traffic information on the right of the screen. Traffic is being registered by the unit because if I manually hit the traffic button it does display correctly, but it refuses to automatically show the traffic without manual intervention. It started happening mid journey. It was working ok, then we stopped for a rest. When we restarted our journey the traffic would not work correctly. I have tried a hard reset and that hasn't helped.
Any ideas, please? |

If the traffic displays when you manually select it then the GTM traffic c adapter must be working. Normally traffic will only automatically show if there is traffic
On your route
Did you have a route selected at the time? What do your settings say for the traffic options in the menu? _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.70

Yes a route was selected. This has happened more than once each time with a route selected.
The Traffic settings haven't changed. I have "Optimise Route" set to On Request, "Traffic Alerts" set to Most, "trafficTrends" turned off.
I also have the Traffic Map Layer ticked.
Its odd because it stopped working mid-route.
The device knew about the problems on the route because it was amending the end time correctly, it just wasn't showing it on the display unless I pressed the traffic button. |

Has the Traffic - compatible traffic accessory required become unticked by any chance - not sure why it would stop working en route. _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.70

Have you possibly added another map to your unit? My 3598 suddenly decided that it would not provide traffic at all after I added a TalkyToaster map. Removing the offending map returned the traffic function. _________________ Dabri.

I have three additional maps on my 2460 with no problem, but on the 3598 the software recognises them and throws a wobbly, viz. it either says the power lead will not charge, or it disables traffic. _________________ Dabri.

Ah OK, maybe a model specific issue then. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

No additional maps have been added. It's all very strange. |

If you deviate from the planned route, even slightly, when the unit recalculates the route the traffic is no longer displayed. _________________ Paul |

Perhaps worth installing the latest firmware 5.10 as this mentions you recalculating on a route so maybe that could also affect traffic _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.70

Currently on version 5.4. Just been on a journey. On the way there the traffic didn't bring up the right hand screen even though there was traffic on the route. Coming home, as soon as I attached the unit the traffic started working as expected. Could it be a problem with dirty pins on the magnetic holder maybe? |
