Did you follow these rules
· Symbols should be saved in a 24-bit Windows-style bitmap format. This format is selectable in Windows included "Paint" utility.
· Symbols should be not exceed 32 pixels in width or height. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

No. First point, I just loaded the icon into paint, changed thebackground colour and saved it. No Idea what the bit depth is.
Second point. That might be the answer as I'm using 44x44 icons.
K emailed me one he had done, but I inadvertently deleted the email so have been unable to try his. I'm certain I was using 22x22 last time I tried. |

You could also try an 8 bit bmp file. I have had more success with getting the magenta colour to work as transparent in an 8 bit file rather than a 24 bit file.
To convert a bmp to 8 bits in paint use File - Save as - 256 colour bitmap (In the dropdown box at the bottom) _________________ Paul |

Thanks paul.
Resized to 32x32. Background still magenta.
Couldn't see how to save as 24 or 8 bit in paint.
PSP9 says 8 bits per channel
Found the save as in paint.
OK, that got rid of the background. Need to have a look at the red circle as that has gone now |

8 bits per channel is 24 bit, one channel each for Red, Green & Blue or about 16.7 million colour variations possible. An 8 bit bmp has only 256 colours available in total.
If you save the original file as a 256 colour file in paint without the magenta, then load the 256 colour file back into paint and add the magenta does that work? _________________ Paul |

This is cluttering up the CSV-GPX thread.I'll start another after lunch and try your suggestion.
At the mo, I have lost all my cams on my device. |

It looks perfect to me, thank you. I've tried various combinations and it didn't break. _________________ Paul |

Thanks
I'll move 59 to production and move it to the main download area.

Another update.
After feedback the TEXT CHANGE screen has been made slightly more user friendly.
The top banner gives some more usage info, plus, if you use the 'Save and Exit' button without processing the GPX files text changes you will be prompted and can have another go.

Thank you Kremmen; tell me, where do I find the 'nospeed' .wav file that is missing? _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599 LMT-D |

The new BMP and WAV files are all included in the download package.
As you have found, you need the 'nospeed' ones, plus there is a new overspeed.bmp
The easiest fix is to copy the complete picture folder contents you use (22, 24 or 44x44) and do the same with the sound folder contents.
That change was due to continual queries regarding what TBA meant whereas 'nospeed' cameras, hopefully, make it clearer what the cameras really are.
As well as bugs I'm happy to fix useability issues. _________________ DashCam:

Following on from the transparent issue, I have it solved.
I used MSPaint to insert some transparent areas into all the 44x44 icons, and it failed.
I then looked closer and the icons were not in 256 colours (or colors as Microsoft insist on misspelling it).
I then used PaintShop Pro to 'reduce' the colours to 256 and they all now work.
I've inserted a new folder into the zip called 'Picture Files Transparent (44x44), it's there now.
I haven't done the 24's or 22's as one set was enough for one day.
This is what PSP made of the original icons - RGB 8 Bits:

(Another) new version - 62
This version only changes the Text Change screen.
After feedback I have made the screen easier to use and include the options for all devices. All is explained in the help file but the screen should be self explanatory as the changes set are mimicked on the right.
