But why on earth did you have to quote three previous posts taking up all that space instead of just the 6 or 7 lines that were all that was required? Use the 'Post reply' button at the bottom unless you have to quote to get your post in context. |

Point taken, but it doesn't have to be so terse! |

Hi ellick it's me again.
I have had success.
Thanks it has been a good result all round.
Cheers[/quote]
Hi Wartklin,
I am glad it worked for you too. Credit must go to 'BBJtech', I just happened across his post.
It is a much better way for ntg5.1.
Best wishes,
Ellick. |

I have a 2016 Merc GLC with SD Card Garmin MAP Pilot Europe 2015/2016 V1.2 Map 5.0. Have tried all the suggested instruction after downloading the speed camera files and still the Sat Nav does not display speed cameras.
I've come to the conclusion that these files do not work with the latest version of the Merc Garmin Map Pilot.
If this is the case can I get my £19:99 refunded

Hello,
I had lots of problems trying to put the speed camera data base on ntg5 Mercedes Comand.
I tried this: -
'Firstly make sure you create a folder called - PersonalPOI - (without the dashes) in the route of the SD Card. The spelling and capitals are important
Then copy the 2 extracted .gpx files to the PersonalPOI folder
After that, all I do is insert the SD card into the car slot and leave it. After a couple of minutes if I drive off the database has automatically loaded and I receive camera alerts as expected'
You must only transfer the 2 extracted gpx files to the folder on the SD card.
When the cameras show on the navigation map choose options and make sure 'show on map' and 'audible alert' is ticked.
Good luck.

Thanks Ellick, I did see your previous post and had tried to the letter exactly what you suggested but I get no cameras appearing on the map.
I'm wondering if the fact I'm running a newer version of the Merc Map Pilot NTG5E is the problem and it is not compatible with gpx files that have been downloaded.
Rgds & Thanks.

Hi,
I have just purchased a 2015 W205 AMG C63. I downloaded the files under the Mercedes link on the download page. I formated my SD card to ensure its clean.
I created a folder PersonelPOI and then extracted the zipped files in to the folder.
I put the SD card in the SD slot in the arm rest then switched on the command system.
I select Personal POI in the menu and all I get is a message "Place SD card in slot with personel POI's" the car doesnt seem to see the card, any idea why? My pc cn see them no problem! |

As a generic reply, as I haven't got a Merc, check the format of the card.
Usually these systems like plain old FAT and dislike NTFS _________________ DashCam:

Having a bit of problem installing the speed camera data base onto the Garmin Map Pilot SD Card Europe 2016 and wondered if anyone could offer any advice as to what I’m doing wrong or is it an issue with the Command System on-board the car? Details as follows;
Car – 2016 Mercedes AMG SLC43, 3 weeks old
When I view the system the Command System is listed as NTG5Star1, software Version 38.18
SD Card Garmin Map Pilot Europe 2016, V6 Map 6.0
I’ve tried loading the speed camera database as a .gpi file using the naming convention of Speedcams_UK_Camera.gpi and placed it in the POI folder on the SD card.
That didn’t work, so I created a folder called PersonalPOI within the main folder on the SD card and loaded speed camera data base in there.
That didn’t work either, so I created a folder called PersonalPOI as a stand alone folder on the SD card and loaded the camera data base in there.
That didn’t work either.
The main issue seems to be that when I enter the Navi menu there isn’t an option to import or copy any personal POI’s or is the system supposed to just pull the POI’s automatically into the sat nav?
The other method that I’ve tried is loading the speed camera database using the Garmin POI Loader and letting it place the POI camera file directly into the POI folder on the original Mercedes supplied SD card and that didn’t work either.
Am I doing something wrong or perhaps it’s due to the particular Command system that is installed in the car?
Hope someone can help. |

Ah ha. I’m sorted
Didn’t realise that with the system that is on the car I don’t need to import the speed camera data base and this is where I’ve been going wrong.
I simply copy the .gpi files (UK and EU) to the POI folder on the Garmin Map Pilot Europe 2016 SD Card and the system automatically reads the information and displays the camera as and when I approach one, it even plays a “bong” alert. |

Good
Your next mission, should you choose to accept it, is to use POIloader with the appropriate .wav files and SOX.exe in place.
The object of the exercise is to see if you can replace the global fairly meaningless bong to a nice verbal warning like "Fixed Camera Ahead, 50 miles per hour" like we do on the Garmin PND's in our .gpi files.
This message will self destr........... _________________ DashCam:
