Bedford Road? My 2569 finds it, but that's absolutely no consolation to you, other than to know that it is in the Garmin lookup table.

haha yes...

Well i've reinstalled the maps and its now working as it should with full postcodes, not sure what issue was before!

Thanks for all the help, now going to delve into setting the rest of it up.

Could have been a map issue, or maybe even the map simply not selected ...

Maybe, this is my first satnav so getting used to it having only used hired ones before or google maps...

It was really being awkward, would put in my own address or postcode and it wouldn't find it, only if it put the first 3 digits of the postcode!?

Anyway all working now & i've started putting in trip plans for when i go to the US next year, which is why I bought it.

I haven't used it but if you're pre planning trips then Garmin's BaseCamp program, which fully integrates with the PND's, is worth looking at.

I'd second that. It's very good.

Destinations and waypoints can be found using BaseCamp's map, its search facility or Lat&Long co-ordinates. Copying folders of, say, the addresses of families and friends to the Garmin's Favourites is very speedy.
