I was used to putting them on my SD card as not to clutter up my internal storage as they are not day to day essential for me. Now that has been taken away and the "support" guy from Garmin said to me that i couldn`t have been putting them onto my SD card for the last 2 years as it wasn`t possible!!!!
This was just before i noticed that they are now installed through GE. This is a very backward step as far as i am concerned, but to be honest i never used the UK ones as i said to him why should i as i use the PGPS speed cameras. Anyway my free Garmin subscription ends in December.

Well the move to GE had to be made as NPAPI plug ins are being withdrawn from browsers,

POIs take up so little space they hardly clutter up anything, but if you're that concerned just move them to the SD card.

Version 4.2.0.0 has shown up on my GE.

I presume that because it has moved from 4.1.x that is a more significant update than normal.

Unfortunately not that significant to merit a new 4.2.X

Garmin began rolling out Garmin Express v4.3.0 for the PC today. This version includes the following changes:

•No more losing activity data when switching between Garmin devices! If you’re using multiple activity tracking devices from Garmin, we now consolidate your Steps, Calories, Distance (from steps), Floors Climbed and Intensity minutes data using TrueUp.
•Fixed an issue where map installations to the computer were not displaying progress.
