|
|
Im located in the southwest (Devon) and up until about 3 weeks ago, TMC was working a treat. In fact the information contained in the TMC data about traffic issues and speed had been improving.
However over the last 3 weeks, the TMC signal is present but no data being transmitted. My Merc has not received any traffic messages. A friedn with a pioneer unit has received maybe one or two, but this has been for incidents on the M25 - hardly local!
Anyone have any ideas as to what is going on? I can not find anything on the internet. |

All you need to stuff TMC is your local or strongest 'provider' to have an issue.
I suffered the same some years ago when Eagle radio in Surrey went up the pictures for a while.
I had no TMC till I got near Heathrow then Capital Radio took over as the strongest signal and it all jumped back into life. _________________ DashCam:

TMC and Inrix are totally different animals.
Inrix is digital DAB transmissions wheras, as you say, TMC is FM based.
TMC comes from a nationwide network of FM radio stations with ClassicFM being the most common.
I've never investigated where Inrix DAB comes from. _________________ DashCam:

inrix acquired ITIS in 2011 http://inrix.com/press/2687/
If inrix did not continue to transmit ITIS TMC over classic FM, who did?
My understanding was that there were 2 TMC sources, ITIS and Trafficmaster(who have been acquired by teletrac) and broadcast over local radio stations rather than Classic FM. |
