The downside is that they seem to be radius (proximity) related and there is no facility for alert 'only on route' like a TomTom device sing camera POIs.

Reading back through the thread again i spotted this.
So I'll try locksmith's idea of reducing the time |

Yes, use MB POI loader to alter the distance away from a camera that the bong sounds. It works!
As the warning zones are radius based, if a camera is on a very close parallel road you will get the errant warning but I adjusted to 10 seconds from the default 30 secs and its just right. |

Just to say, my Mercedes Command wouldn't import the files on the SD Card - I followed the instructions precisely. When I unpacked the files, Windows put them into another new folder off PersonalPOI, I eventually realised that the files need to be in that 1st folder - then it worked.
Appreciate your help. Bongs would be good though ...!! |

I can confirm that I had problems loading into the Comand system on my 2015 C Class (W205) using the instructions. Mr_TIFF's suggestion to load by going to DESTINATIONS instead of directly from the OPTIONS menu appears to work fine. Thanks! |

Does the Merc Command work in the S Class (W222), as i can not get it to read the SD card, the SD card works fine in my E Class (64 plate), but when inserted in the S Class, just get a massage saying please insert SD card. |

Hi, I have a 64 plate C250 AMG and I cannot get the system to load on to the Navi system. I have down loaded the Mercedes file, created the PersonalPOI folder in the Garmin folder (SD Card). I cannot follow the next step as there no files 9-17. Once I replace the SD Card and turn on the car the Navi system starts and I don't have an option to select PersonalPOI. Can anyone help?
Cheers

New E-Class W213 (2016)
I've downloaded the Mercedes Command Online database, put into a folder marked 'PersonalPOI" and slotted it in the car.
Sadly I have no option on the Navi to upload PersonalPOI as directed in the instructions.
Not sure of the software version, "latest"?
Any suggestions?
Cheers - Sarah |

I have a new Merc GLA with Comand NTG5. Files stay on SD card and work fine with bongs albeit still on a radius rather than the route. |

Can you explain exactly what you do please Ian. It might help others.
When you say "Files stay on SD card" do you mean that there is no indication of their presence on the unit until you get the alert? Or what? It seems that peeps are not sure exactly what to expect when they bung in the SD card. |

I have command 5. Every way I have tried to get speed cameras warnings onto this system has failed every time.
I have tried 4 different SD cards.
The result is always the same which is to request I insert the SD card (already inserted). Strangely if I lock the SD card the system tells me that it is importing data. It doesn't though, even though I have left it in for an hour or more.
When the system reports that it is importing data and I press ok and later go back to personal POIs it asks to insert the SD card (already inserted).
I have created a Personal POI file and on one occasion and GPX file within that. Same result.
I have also tried going to destination and it still doesn't download.
What am I missing?
Any help appreciated. |

I hope this helps as I had the same problem this worked for me.
1) Make sure that the SD card is clean of any detail, best to format it ensuring FAT 32
2) On the SD card, create a folder called PersonalPOI
3) Log on to Pocket GPS World.
4) Go to speed camera download.
5). Select "Mercedes Comand".
6) Select “UK-single file with all cameras”.
7) Download the compressed file to the SD Card PersonalPOI folder.
8) Unpack the files.
9) Remove all files except gpx files
10) Insert card into the SD slot on the car
11) Choose Navi function
12) Select Destination
13) Select from SD card, this will start trying to import, but it doesn't !!
14) Now select Options and select Personal POIs
15) Select show on map,
16) The cameras should now show on your map but sound will only be a bong.
17) You must leave the SD card in slot as the files do not load onto Comand unit they only
Show on the map.
Each time you update the cameras you will need to carry out the above again.
GOOD LUCK |
