|
|
Hi, I seem to be having a few problems with the 1005.
I have the warning distances set as per some guidelines I found on how far in advance you should be warned. The cameras don't seem to be activiting in time i.e. if I have 70mph set at 684 yards I'm a lot closer before the warning activates.
Also the warning is not disappearing until around half a mile after I've passed the camera. If there are 2 cameras within half a mile I don't get the second warning as the first one is still displayed in the top left corner. I noticed that the distance under the warning sign is not counting down as I approach the camera, I'm pretty sure the distance figure under the warning sign used to count down but not certain.
Any ideas before I do a reinstall please?

Backed up favourites, factory reset, updated unit, reloaded cameras and favourites, seems ok in demo mode, will test next time out in car. _________________ TomTom Go 1005 Live |

So it worked a couple of times then the fault reappeared.
I only get the spoken warning when literally on top of the camera, and the visable warning stays on the screen well after I've passed the camera location. The number underneath the warning does indeed count down to zero when it's working but isn't doing that at the moment.
It's like it's appearing too late then staying on more than the required amount of time... any help appreciated.

How many sets of POIs are you displaying? Not sure about now, but 'in the old days' if you displayed too many POIs it slowed everything right down. Switch off all other POI display and try again. |

Well, it was a 'bit of a straw' to grab hold of. |

It's the Show POI category on map that needs to have each category unticked. Very often the Device will select the icons you have used (worked on), to show them on the map, and that is where the application has a bottleneck.
Warn when Near doesn't have the same process overload. _________________ Richard

Thanks Richard
In Show POI Category on map the cameras are ticked, nothing else is.
In Warn when near POI the cameras are ticked, nothing else is.
Point taken, I have now unticked the cameras in Show POI Category on map, I will test on way to work tomorrow, but as a side note, they have always been ticked in there, I haven't made any changes in two years and this fault has just started to occur. I don't use any other POI's.

I've done another factory reset and reinstalled everything. Looks to be ok in demo, will check tomorrow. _________________ TomTom Go 1005 Live |

Nope, didn't work, still getting the same problem.
Camera warning logo appears in top left corner
Distance underneath waring logo does not count down from my set distance to zero
Camera spoken alert does not sound until right on top of the camera
Camera warning logo stays on the screen around 1/2 mile after I've passed the location
Any help appreciated
Thanks! _________________ TomTom Go 1005 Live |

Hi
My TT1005 is doing exactly the same and like you say it did not do it before, I also started a thread about this issue.
I have also noticed sometimes the camera audio warning does not alert at all, I can approach a fixed camera 30 limit and no alert, stay on the same road another camera 30 again fixed and it will alert.
Just have to live with it I suppose, although I am now using Waze on my phone which seems to be more effective than TT Traffic, I ran them side by side till my traffic subscription ran out, i didn't bother to renew traffic.
the only problem with Waze is you need a data connection for the maps to load, also the cameras on it are not as good as the PGPSW ones.

I binned it in the end mate and went with TT Mobile on my phone. Not quite as good a solution, and the TT cameras aren't as good as PGPSW's, but I'm getting by with it. _________________ TomTom Go 1005 Live |

What phone do you have? If you have Android or iPhone then you can always use CamerAlert, which uses PGPSW data.
Which TomTom Mobile app are you using?
If it's TomTom GO Mobile for iOS then you have my deepest sympathies as TomTom GO Mobile for iOS is rubbish!
If it's TomTom app V1.25 for iOS then you can load the PGPSW POIs for on screen location and CamerAlert for warnings.
If you have an Android phone then I have no current knowledge of TomTom on Android.
