I have used iGO8 on a Chinese PNA for some years, but now I cannot get camera alerts. All settings are correct, I've checked and re-checked, there are 27 wav files in Audio, I have downloaded the latest camera files which are in Speedcam, together with Auto Alert dat and bmp files.
The only Setting I'm not sure about is Warn when speeding, which is not ticked, but fairly certain it wasn't previously.
The cameras appear on the map, and voice directions work, but camera alerts which used to work, no longer do. Any ideas please?

The 'Warn when speeding' is related to what the maps think is the current speed limit on the road, and will warn you when over that. It is nothing to do with speedcams as you suspect.
Unless you have a skin modified to give you voice alerts, all you will get is a 'turkey gobble' sound for the speedcam alerts and the speedcam overspeed alert. This sound is 'alert 5' which is set in the speedcam Audible warning option(I think, as I have a modified skin to give voice alerts).
PS. Not a good idea to publish your email address in any forum. It will attract spam. |

Thanks for that. Re the email, it just appeared, I wasn't expexcting it, never does thart on any other forums. I just want the warning alert, I use the built in for navigation, however you cannot put cameras into it. Going to try an old iPAQ 314 that also use a version of iGO to see if that works. |

Remove the email by editing your post.
You can set the alert for different sounds. Have you tried?
The el cheapo Chinese satnavs work just fine with iGO of most flavours (Primo etc.), and the camera alerts work ok on the two that I have so it's unlikely to be the hardware that's at fault. |

It may also possibly be a tick box on your profile page?
