Currently I am only able to search with 5 digit postcode, is there any way to have 7 digits? My system is Blaupunkt Chicago running Win CE. Thanks |

Have you tried putting a space after the first 4? |

It was just a thought as iGO will only take 5 unless you pout in the space. I'm out of ideas then. |

Never used it but is it meant to take full postcodes? Perhaps it just doesn't? _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

But seriously, the early PDAs only used 5 digits but would have thought the 70 Premium would have 7.
Did a quick check on Navigon web site and looks like there is a later update to 7.7.10 and you don't have Flow either (as it is offered as an upgrade).
Have you checked the FAQs on Navigon website?:

7.7.10 makes no difference to postcodes unfortunately and there is no info in faq's. |

I downloaded the 54 page English Manual for MN7 PDAs but it doesn't say how many digits in the 'postal' code - but it is dated Nov 2008 when there were probably only 5 as it then goes on to suggest entering a street and house number/cross street!
Apart from a software upgrade - probably of the order of £70 plus - I think that's it. _________________ Tim

You may be right about the upgrade but there is no supporting info on Navigon site. May just have to make the best of it!! |

For the cost of an upgrade you can get the latest Android version plus 2 years min. of map updates plus lots of other extras - and put it on up to 3 mobiles/tablets! _________________ Tim

Actually turned on my Navigon 4350max and put in a route!
(Wife wanted to go to a friend and I wasn't going to lend her my 10" tablet as she is inclined to break things!)
And guess what - it has 5 digit 'postal' codes too!
I actually might prefer it to the Navigon Android 7 digit system as with 7 digits you can't enter a street and house number/cross street. This can be a problem as Android version doesn't always use the town name that I know - often it's the district rather than the main town name.
It was a warranty replacement for a 4310max but think I bought the original in Dec 2009 as I had a two year map deal which expired at end of 2011.
Software is 7.4.6 with an online User Manual dated Jan 09.
I was still adding extras to the end of 2011 when I gave up and added Navigon Android to a 3" smart mobile I had bought. _________________ Tim

Just to add a bit of confusion, there is also the code FIQQ 1ZZ which is a UK postcode for the Falkland Islands which was introduced in 2003.
This was because mail was often getting misdirected (probably to Falkirk in Scotland) and also because the islanders were often unable to make purchases using online mail order forms.

Very interesting, but what's with all the spam links at the bottom of this post? |

What surprises me is that a mod hasn't deleted them. |
