I'm afraid not. It may be because map corrections are going through a purple patch these days. Or those might be a separate problem (well, an issue, well a not issued issue, if you see what I mean). _________________ Dennis

I never said they were, look I've a free lifetime here, I'm not dissing your cameras.
At the moment I can't use them in TomTom, so I use TomTom's own, and you know what they are are damn sight better than they have ever been in the past. I'm not trying to sell them to people, I'm just saying they work for me.
Jeez, getting a little bit precious around here. _________________ Samsung S22 Android, Google Maps & Camera Alert |

But your statement Quote: | Old temporary one linger for a while but TomTom are always asking for confirmation if a camera is still there, so they do keep up to date. | is accurate insofar as, yes they do, but it's the length of time that they take to do this that's the criticism. They frequently take months or longer, so 'up to date' is not actually a factual statement in the general acceptance of the term. But I suppose that depends on one's interpretation of 'up to date'. |

No problem.
I agree they do linger, but the new TomTom Go product only takes a single press to dismiss the cameras as you drive through say a set of SPECS that are no longer there.
Until I can use your camera's in TomTom Go its the best I can do I'm afraid. I've tried running Camera Alert in the background but it's just not the same. _________________ Samsung S22 Android, Google Maps & Camera Alert |

It's a few years since I used TomTom on an Android. Are you able to load the PGPSW cameras (.OV2 and .BMP) files onto your phone so that they show on the map and then use CamerAlert in the background? Or won't the icons (of the cameras) appear on the screen whilst navigating?

As far as I'm aware, you can add poi but not an associated .bmp, the result being that you could search for a camera as a poi and navigate to the location, but not much else. If you do manage to have them all display on screen, they would just appear as a generic TomTom icon. _________________ Galaxy Note 4 / TomTom GO : CamerAlert : CoPilot |

Well, I've been using a GO6100 since beginning of November and I have yet to have it ask me if a camera is still there. _________________ Dennis

If you using TT Go on an Android why are people complaining they can't use PocketGPSWorld Speed Cameras.
Granted you can't use inside the app, but if you install the free CamerAlert App you get all the warnings, etc
So I can't honestly see the problem
I run CA in the background and TT Go in foreground - you can also switch so CA in foreground and TT Go in background |

So having bought tomtom for my old phone and thinking when I upgraded my phone thought it would was compatible only to find out it was not.
I have scoured the internet looking for a solution and there is a consenses that even the lates tomtom from playstore might not be compatable with phones that have a higher resolution for maps provided with the software. so before getting latest tomtom from playstore make sure that its going to work because if it does not work dealing with tomtom customer services and support is going to be difficult going by my past experience with them. |
Hi
I have been using tomtom go on the galaxy s6 edge at the following screen resolution 1440 x 2560 with no problems since the launch.
The current version 1.9 release /1.9 (1273) has been the best yet.
Downloaded from the play store
