I'd try a master reset first, rather than roll the firmware back. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

I did a master reset immediately after the upgrade so this is happening since then. I did all the obvious like checking the power cord etc. |

To roll back you need a copy of the previous .gcd file. If you don't have one pm me your email address and I'll send it to you with instructions.
As I said though mine is working fine _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Thanks for this. I took a backup in October. I have a GUPDATE.GCD in .System and lots of little ones in .System\RemoteSW such as 006B154600.gcd |

To roll back replace the current gupdate.gcd with a previous one. When you start the nuvi you'll be warned that you're using an earlier version, just accept and it'll install the older firmware. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Seems that there are others with the traffic power cable 'problem'. Mt 2569 is fine after the update. I wonder what's going on. |

just bricked my 3598.
Any ideas?
Started Garmin Express, which said there was an update & to connect sat-nav. I did this, GE said update would take 1 hour 39 minutes, however in just a few minutes the screen said to restart my nuvi 3598.
Followed these instructions, disconnected sat-nav from pc, pressed the power button, unit started with 'Garmin' splash screen then after a minute, screen goes blank.
Left it for ages, nothing happened. Tried turning on again, it needs the power button held in for quite a while, then upon releasing, will show the splash screen again, then go blank.
Thanks all. |

That's a pain. Did you do a safe eject or just pull the plug?
What will possibly have happened is that the gupdate.gcd file will have corrupted, or maybe a different file depending on what the update was.
Try googling garmincure3 _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Held the power button in for 30 seconds, upon release the splash screen popped up.
It was connected to the pc, so it immediately went into tethered mode (or whatever it is called),
I ran garmin express. It found the sat-nav, did two sw updates then allowed me to update the map, grumbling that the sd card was too small, so loaded just UK map.
Ta all.
