Not saying this is the issue but for all these devices that go to sleep with a quick press of the button rather than do a full shut down, it is worth doing a complete shut down every couple of days so that the device does a cold rather than warm start. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

I always do a full shut down. Does the device save 'crash logs' anywhere? |

If it's created them they'll be in the .system folder, which is hidden so you need to set Windows to show hidden and system files and folders and also set your nuvi to mass storage mode. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Just to give you a update on my 2699, I have finally had enough as each time I ring them for an update . Nothing seems to have change absolutely no progress other then it still with their software team in the USA.
One good thing has come about it all they have given me a discount code to use against their nuvicam which is not effected .
I assume that the speed cameras will work the same as effectively they are the same apart from the dash cam ( I hope )
I am sure someone will tell me if this is not the case.
Thanks for all your help/advice.

They should work fine on the nuvicam
I still haven't seen anyone else post about this issue, so it'll be interesting if we ever find out what was happening _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

I'm still dubious about using it via the USB lead in the car.
As I posted, I tried that with a Garmin 50 and that kept flicking between the map and pseudo computer mode. Switched to the car fag adapter, problem went away. _________________ DashCam:

All I can say is that it did about 600 miles using the USB and it worked perfectly apart from not being able to receive traffic.
Opposed to switching its self off after a few miles, I know which one I would rather use, Although I realise it is not the right way, Hopefully that is a thing of the past when I get the nuvicam |

Just to let all you kind people know that I no longer have the Nuvi 2699.
They gave me a fantastic discount off the Nuvicam, which I hope to test out tomorrow, Looking at it though I don't think there will be any problems, Fingers crossed. Thanks for all your help. |
