This topic started 2 years and 3 months ago. If anybody still thinks there's a chance that TomTom will fix it, they have my sympathy - it ain't gonna happen!

It appears any TomTom satnavs that use the old 7.903 Navcore are affected by this bug.
I've just adopted an old TomTom ONE 1st edition and BINGO same problem Confused
One can only surmise that it's due to a bug in the 7.903 Navcore which TomTom are not going to fix as they consider these legacy devices which are more or less unsupported.
However if they’re still actively selling current maps for these devices they should find a work around as it seems very unfair to knowingly sell a defective product?

If it IS a fault with the 7.903 navcore then it would/will also affect the even older GO Classic and GO x00 models too (not just the x10 series) but not heard from any owners of these (yet?)

As I pointed out in my previous post, it's affecting my TomTom ONE 1st edition (ugly looking thing) which is 11 years old and it came out before the GO x10 series.
Remember that the standard bootloaders on the older TomTom's won't allow the use of SDHC cards, so running the Europe map (which won’t fit on a 2GB SD card) on one of these devices isn’t going to happen, not unless you can find a less common non-SDHC 4GB SD card which will work on some older devices that don’t support SDHC.
The earliest TomTom which had more than 2GB storage capability was the GO 910 hence mostly 910 users will experience the issue and not older devices.
I use alternative official bootloaders on my all my old TomTom's that will allow the use of SDHC cards plus some other benefits Very Happy

Hope my attempt wasn't a one off but it seemed to work OK with Europe North v9.70. Could TomTom have finally fixed it after all this time?

John.

Yep... the v970 Europe map for v7.903 Navcore devices is still Rolling Eyes
It's only the Europe map that's affected, the UK only map etc are fine Confused
I've tried to contact TomTom about the issue and directed them to this thread but they appear not to be interested in the slightest Confused
