Hi Folks,
Have posted in handheds, will try here, anyone savvy with Oregon
300 handhelds for installation of Cyclops speed camera alerts ?
I have tried copying the same folders as in my Sat Nav Zumo 550 to the
Oregon 300 which is Garmin\GPX\POI Cyclops.gpi etc which work fine on the
Zumo 550, but does not apply to the Oregon 300 ?
Some where on the Web I caught a glimpse of the 300 with Cyclops installed up and running, but cannot find the page again...
Best Regards Mack..... |

As I posted in your original thread if it works the speed camera file should be in Garmin/POI
Incidentally copying the Cyclops files won't work as they'll be linked to the original device, if that's what you're trying to do. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Hi Sussamb,
Sorry to disagree with you ! but ! during late Summer I had my original Zumo 550 to navigate around Europe for our annual get away.
subsequently my 550 failed !!
On my return to the UK I purchased a used 550 with UK and N\IRE maps installed but no camera Cyclops on the unit...
So I looked at my original 550 unit and copied the Cyclops files etc and made
the same folders on the replacement 550 unit ...
Now considering they have both got different serial No's what you are saying
will not work ! well I have to disappoint you there as jobs a gooden ..
And subsequently my latest 550 camera alerts work fine on the unit !
So you can understand why I tried to replicate this on the Oregon 300..
Best regards Mack.... |

Perhaps if they were just the demo ones initially on the unit, but if you purchase them so you get updates they're locked to the unit.
If somehow speed camera files purchased for one unit are working on another I'd keep quiet about it, as it shouldn't work _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Just picked up on this....
Over on the car forum I frequent there has been an ongoing thread about loading Cyclops into the OEM headunit that runs Garmin.
It's a bit of a faff as it needs the complete mapping reinstalling each time but owners are reporting complete success downloading Cyclops GPI files from the linked website and loading them into the car system.
My feeling is that the Cyclops files are illegal copies so I won't post the link. _________________ DashCam:
