Sad part is,that I am sure it only needs a software update to overcome the sound On/Off problem then it would be a really good camera, although the distance before the speed camera alert needs sorting. |

I have been using a Mobius for the last 6 months and I find it very good.
Cost around £60.
google "Mobius techmoan" for a review. |

This. We've only got a couple more days before the 25% off code expires - any chance of a review of some sort before then? |

OK, so the offer ends today, and the PGPSW review isn't published yet. Is there any chance that the offer can be extended until a couple of days after publication of the review, so that we can read the review and make an informed purchasing decision? Or is the review being withheld until after the offer expires in a cunning ploy to get people buying the units at full price instead of 25% off? |

Ha ha, no cunning ploy
I have asked over the weekend if the offer can be extended and await an answer. _________________ Robert Brady |

Apologies, I won't have time to get the full review done before then!
However, a few comments:
Design:
- Seems sturdy, screen is clear (although a little darker than the final footage).
- Buttons are easy to use
- The power lead goes into the top and pushes against the windscreen so it's fiddly to connect to power when attached to the mount
- power lead is 10ft long so it's easy to route around the car and hide it
- ideally I would have the camera behind the rearview mirror but then you can't see it to check it's recording etc or to hit the 'event' button so I've had to put in bottom right of window
Software
- Windows-only software (no Mac support other than simply viewing the .mov files without the speed/location data)
- I can't work out how the lane warnings work, if at all
Speed Cams
- directional
- strange choice of icons for cameras
- average speed shown through specs
- found that it keeps beeping after specs cameras - possibly not stopping something at an END specs? - need to check as this could be the lane alerts :/
- not spoken alert for cameras - again, you need to be able to see the screen when driving
- to update you download a file from the proofcam webste and copy to the SD card - restart the devce and it updates. No date on the update though to see how recent it is
General
- video quality is good, 1080p is lowest resolution - 720 would be nice to save on space
- video in low light is still clear - although red lights seem to flash
- struggled to see any differece in video quality with HDR on or off
- included 8gb SD card fits about 80mins of 1080p footage before overwriting older ones
- built in screen is useful for replaying footage BUT there's no option to mark a file as not to be overwritten
- the event button saves a 30sec file - 10secs prior to pressing the button and then 20secs after. These DON'T get overwritten
- If you miss the event button (or don't manage to press it within 10 secs) then there's no way to mark footage to be saved (recommend a 32gb card so you can keep recording and save file later)
- I've not had a crash so can't comment on how well the auto-event sensor works
- option to turn off display after a few minutes is useful - removes distraction! also turns on again when there's any notification like speed cams etc
- easy to mute the audio when recording or to stop/start recording footage
Any other questions - PLEASE ASK and I'll do my best to answer |

Looking at the file you download from the ProofCam Product Resources page, the date might be a part of the file name.
My main concern is how configurable the speed camera database is on here, but it looks like it's not configurable at all. Is that right?
And there are a number of other questions scattered through this thread. |

I have managed to get an extension of the offer by 24 hours and the 25% offer will be repeated again towards the end of the month. _________________ Robert Brady |

Yes, it is now. They changed it after I suggested that 'edogdata.dat' wasn't very clear that it was the speed cams...!

Correct. The alert seems to be fixed to 250m (OK for smaller roads but a bit last second on motorway) |

Just uploading an unedited sample of night footage.
Might take a while, kids are downloading games on the Xboxes but it will be here when ready: https://youtu.be/MC6P1T2Mdm4 |

That's up now. Just make sure you click the little cog on the video to increase the resolution! |
