I fancy using my speed cameras on my New Nissan built in sat nav , is there any way I can input them without losing all the other POI. or perhaps they could be saved and later re-entered, but I suppose I would loose the camera database at the same time , even if I could input them. I dont get this problem with TT POIs is this due to them being in a different folder ?? Is there a way around it ? any help would be appreciated . I didnt want to fire up the old drivesmart if I can help it. Regards Johnbull

PS
the system runs from an SD card but says it needs formatting for use in a computer

See my post here; done via USB socket in glove box;

Do not interfere with the dashboard SD Card
Mad

The Nissan audible warning, which you have to turn on in Settings, is pretty feeble.

Hi Peasemore, Many thanks for your suggestion , did you lose all other POIs as it states, when you are ready to input the speed camera files ?? or did they piggy back them and just add the cameras as well ?? Johnbull

Piggy as far as I can recall; the Connect system has an option to delete your own POI's incidentally.
By the way radio needs to be on, and when system detects your USB, will often say "No music files detected", (if true), & then disappear. Will then ask if you want it to d/load your POI's.

If it doesn't you may need to do it manually from Connect controls, navigate to "Download my POI's" Wink

many thanks I will give it a try. I got as far as "you will lose all your POIs " and panicked and aborted the upload and left it as it was, the last time I tried, as I thought the car parks and other POIs might prove useful in the future. regards Johnbull

I update my Speed cameras weekly; perhaps you'll need to copy your POI's manually every time into the same folder (on USB stick) as the pocketgps ones?

Hi again,
thanks for repost, I don't know how to get them off the sd card to save them, I must admit to not having read the manual properly yet I have only had the car a week and Ive been away as well so the manual has taken a back seat up to now . regards Martin

Place sd in your laptop, and right click /explore to view contents and remove just files you added, which hopefully you can identify?

As a back up I recommend having a copy of the sd contents on a back up device.

Yes that worked fine the reason I could not read the sd card was due to it being locked ( what a doomer ) I did as you suggested copied the SD card pois onto my memory stick together with the updated camera database so each time I update the camera files it uploads the existing POIs as well. would like to be able to get vocal warnings rather than the beep though, does any one else have any suggestions how to do that , I see it states no voicepack for this system Pity, unless someone knows differently.

Glad it worked for you, but agree great shame Rolling Eyes that the database can't interface with Nissan's system to play something either a voice or louder tone.

The Connect system's tiny beep is hardly audible if playing some music.

I know this is an oldish thread but I really don't think you should be messing with the original maps sd card!

I am experimenting now with my poi's as I have not updated them for ages.

When it says overwrite your poi's I think it mean the 'user' poi's and not the system ones, which will remain.
Also if you only put poi file in warnings folder and leave mypois empty then it will only update the warnings file and leave the user mypois intact.

At least that is what I think happens.

Either way, the original maps sd card is 'specially' written and cannot be copied or written to without it becoming corrupt.
