|
|
Hi,
Have just updated an iPad to a Tab 2. Loaded CamerAlert (of course!) but discovered a wrinkle in getting the menu up.
On the Galaxy the left hand "soft" button used on other Android devices now brngs up the split screen function, so the CamerAlert menu never appears.
I discovered pressing the left and right hand "soft" buttons simultaniously for a few seconds will bring the menu up, but you need a third finger to select the menu. That's just about possible.
BUT. . . . when the menu is selected and you release your fingers, the app then minimises into the scrolling / multiscreen / close all function and when you touch it to maximse to full screen, the menu closes before you can select anything. Aggghhhh. Samsung have taken your "long press" and allocated another function to it.
I think you will have to find another softkey combo
Await some ideas (no, I am not returning the tablet )

We're currently testing a fix for this.

Don't have the Tab 2, use a Galaxy S5. If you long press the soft button on the left it will bring up the menu, which stays up.
Doesn't work with every app, but does with CA.
Not sure if it will work on the Tab 2, may be worth a try. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

My guess would be that it doesn't work on a tab2 or they wouldn't be working on a fix. |

I was wondering about that when I re-read after posting. Never mind, . _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

No idea, but most new Android devices don't have a 'menu' button and we get that many support tickets about it that we're doing a 'fix' anyway.

Just to confirm, a long press on the menu button brings up the split screen / multitask function on a Tab S2.
Pressing both brings up the menu, but minimises as soon as you release a finger, and then closes back to the map.
Patiently awaiting the fix . . . .
