I have the unit hard wired and it is programmed on shut down to turn itself off.

When powered up it comes back on, until recently.

Sometimes the power doesnt come back on.

So sometimes i press the power button and back it comes on.

Now quite often it doesnt come back on with the power on and when you press the power on switch on the tom tom nothing.

After several goes if you hold the power switch on for long enough it comes back on but reboots itself from scratch.

Any updates (i update it every week) software or is the unit on the way out?

I dont want a new one as I have it set up the way I like.

And I read on here of the new units being hassle.

Any pointers gratefully received.

Cheers. Alan

Is the 825's battery worn out, not holding its charge?

Just a thought as a worn out battery can have strange effects on devices, even if it isn't the main power source any more. It can actually lower the voltage applied to the device.

Cheers for that. How do you change the battery in the device then?

Kind regards

I changed the battery and it dont work anymore! Bought a GO 5000 what a laugh.

It is full up after installing the Europe Map.

I have no room for POIS from here etc.

Ordered a Memory Card I hope that works.

I see what you all mean about changes not for the better!

Cheers.

What a nightmare!!

I have not been able to put on my POIS.

Rang Tom tom several times. I have now bought a 16 mgb card.

The device is almost full so I cant put on PoiS.

The nice lady at TT says the card is for maps only. I have downloaded a smaleer map ( I had the whole of Europe)

Still cant get the amount of POIS into my Place, it is also where i had favourites.

So what i need to do apprently, is put the maps onto the memory card so i can put POIS & Favourites into the device.

Any pointers?

This is driving me nuts Its taking hours like 12 do download the European Map initially then 6 hours to download the smaller one.

Any help/toips gratefulllly received.

To be fair the HD Traffic is much better and picks up great but the POIS on the device seem to have disappeared in both display and file.

Cheers.
