I think the key fact here could be that Mr_Tiff mentioned he has a 2015 C-Class.
Since autumn 2014, new C-Class gets NTG 5.0 COMAND, whereas the instructions had been designed for NTG 4.5/4.7.
I watched NTG 5.0 presentation, and generally they are similar in functions, but I bet there could be differences, so the instructions may need to be modified.
Mr_Tiff, do you have a touch-panel where you can write letters, above the COMAND wheel? |

That may be some of the answer, mine is a Feb 2015 build car (W204) and the files work fine. Which generation of C class does the presentation refer to W204 or W205. I was under the impression the W205 system was Garmin based, so it is highly likely files intended for the entirely Mercedes developed system wouldn't work. When I ordered my the dealer did say the W204 system was the last generation of COMAND.
The W205 is the version with the display screen standing proud of the dashboard. |

I have a 2015 Mercedes E Class with Comand 5 or whatever latest is.
I have a MAC and it it still worked liked a charm.
Just import as personal POI and tick all boxes for visual and audible and off you go.
Only pity is it does need the sd card left in so cannot listen to music that way anymore without losing cameras. I did think import meant it stored info. |

I can still listen to music on the SD card with cameras on it, only thing it doesn't seem able to do is shuffle play. |

Worked fine for me. Thank you!

Audio/visual notification working fine.
Only issue for me is the I get the notifications regardless of the direction of travel.
I guess there is no workaround for that? |

I have downloaded the maps to a SD card but when I put it in my car it comes up with a message "no memory card containing navigation software inserted." I have a Garmin NTG5E system. Can anyone help? Can I use a usb stick instead of a SD card? Can I get audio on this system? |

Slipaway - I also have the same issue, upon removing the pre-installed SD card, the nav fails to operate. Is there another slot for the map data? Or a method to save the data to the local hard drive?
Any pointers if you succeeded would be much appreciated. |

Today I subscribed to pocketgpsworld and downloaded the speedcamera database for my Mercedes Comand. In the forum I read that there was no sound available for the Comand.
I have a Mercedes E350 Coupe with a 64 plate. I have installed the speed camera’s on a SD card and installed it on my Comand system.
I have a sound signal when I approach a camera. It is a ping sound, but it works.

With some systems you can get a spoken warning rather than the inbuilt ping or whatever. What the 'No voice available' means is that as far as PGPSW know, it is not possible to have the spoken voice alerts. Unless, of course, you know differently. If so, please tell. |

MaFt wrote: | OK,
"Mercedes Comand" now added to the download options. Can you give it a test for me please?
Instructions here:
POCKET GPS WORLD SPEED CAMERAS FOR MERCEDES COMAND NTG4.5
What do you need?
a. A PC or laptop running either:
Windows XP Service Pack 3 or
Windows Vista or
Windows 7
All of them should have the required windows applications loaded to run vbs files.
b. An SD card (suggest 8 Mb Grade 10).
Procedure:
1. On the SD card, create a folder called “PersonalPOI” .
2. Log on to Pocket GPS World.
3. Go to speed camera download.
4. Select "Mercedes Comand".
5. Check “Include pMobile Files”.
6. Select “UK-single file with all cameras”.
7. Download the compressed file to the SD Card PersonalPOI folder.
8. Unpack the files.
[9-17 removed - related to vbs files]
18. Remove the SD card from the PC or Laptop.
19. Insert the SD card into the slot in the Mercedes NTG4.5 console.
20. Switch on the car.
21. Press the NAVI function button.
22. Select Navi in the main function bar. Press the Comand Controller to confirm.
23. Select PersonalPOIs and press the Comand Controller to confirm.
24. A notice “Importing Data etc” will appear. Press the Command Controller. Repeat Para 23 & 24 until you can select “Display PersonalPOIs”. This can take 3 or 4 minutes.
25. You should see 3 new Categories:
a. Pocket GPS UK FIXED Cameras.
b. Pocket GPS UK MOBILE Cameras.
c. Pocket GPS UK pMOBILE Cameras.
26. Select each in turn and press the Comand Controller to switch on the icon display for each one.
27. Call up the PersonalPOI menu again.
28. Select “Visual warning for PersonalPOIs” and press the Comand Controller to confirm.
29. The menu displays the available categories.
30. Select each category in turn and press the Comand controller to confirm each one.
31. MB UK has stated that there is no audible warning option on UK versions of NTG4.5
32. Check that the icons for the cameras appear on the map (you have to zoom the map to see them):
a. Fixed camera icon is a camera.
b. The pMobile & Mobile camera icon is a camera on a tripod.
33. The camera databases remain loaded as long as the SD card is left in the console. If you remove the SD card for any reason you will have to go through the in-car procedure again.
34. That’s it - enjoy.
