I have Ipaq H3970 and running Copilot Live Ver 4.0.4.94 with a Travroute jacket ins3 I believe

Is there a work around to give me full post code lookup?

I tried loading "ukpostcode" but I don't think its compatible!

If not is there a better software solution than Copilot?

Thanks

Steve

The UKPostCode Plug-In is for TomTom only. One of the big pluses of TomTom in my opinion is that they make available an SDK which allows developers to develop plug-ins which can hook into TomTom and UKPostCode is just one example.

None of the packages currently available have full 7 digit PostCode lookup and this is almost entirely down to the Royal Mail and OS licensing issues so currently TomTom & the UKPostCode plug-in is the only solution that works well.

Thanks Darren,

Do you know if there is a trial version of TomTom so I could have a play before I fork out another shed load of money?

Thanks again

The TomTom website shows "TomTom Navigator 2 SDK". Is there a TomTom Navigator 3 SDK, or does version 2 allow development of applications which work with version 3?

I think I'm correct in saying that the SDK works for both versions.

The V2 SDK will work with V3 but if you are thinking of buying then hold off for now, as TomTom have finished development of the new version (so I'm told - waiting for a copy!!) but haven't released it yet.

I suspect the lack of postcodes is more to do with the size increase to the map data than any licensing problems. Take for instance Infomap Navigator, they have a full maps of Europe including millions of UK post codes, almost 2 million POIs, voice navigation etc for £49 incl VAT but it comes on five CDs. Imagine TTN with this sort of level of data!

It is a licensing issue, given that Digitools free UKPostCode plug in for TomTom occupies only 18mb size is not the barrier that it may once have been.

See www.digitools.co.uk
