Have just been given one of these units to trial for work and am having difficulty trying to add custom poi. At present have the nuvi 3598 and can add poi without any difficulty. would it be the same process to add poi to the navicam ? i get an communication error to device when running poi with navicam attached yet the pc can see the unit as can garmin express. Any ideas |

Yes it's exactly the same process as for the 3598. I have both and uploaded POIs on both. I find the addition of Foursquare has meant that most of my legacy custom POIs are no longer required but I still use the weekly camera files obviously :-) _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.70

Do you have the latest firmware 2.30 installed. I think when these units were released they came with 2.20. Hopefully this may solve your issue as that is what mine is running _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.70

When you run POILoader, does it see your nuviCam? When connected it should say find device and the serial number of your unit will display. If you get past this stage then it should work exactly as per your 3598.
Perhaps try the 3598 again just to check that there isn't a file corruption somewhere. _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.70

Also, ensure you have the latest POILoader, older versions won't connect to newer units. _________________ Satnav:

When I get to the find device stage that's where the error message comes up. It doesn't find it and just gives me options to install it in memory card I j or k.
Downloaded both poi loader and garmin express yesterday just in case mine were out of date. Will attempt again tonight |

That error sounds odd for POILoader to try to give it a drive letter.
I know when I got my 2597 I had to upgrade POILoader because it didn't recognise it. _________________ Satnav:

When I initial connected my nuviCam it initially found the memory card but I deselected that and POILoader found my Nuvi and installed my full set of POIs without problem.
Confirm it all works exactly as per the 3598 and the voice alerts work too. _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.70

As you say, interesting.
Presumably the SD is FAT or FAT32?
or have Garmin overlooked something? _________________ Satnav:
