Time to switch from TomTom

I've done the map and I did the cameras this morning. I've just set the approach ones but I won't be testing them till next Wednesday on my Slough run (joy of being retired)

I've got my approach set to 14 seconds. I found that much more and I often got cameras not on my line of route. I had my overspeed set to 6 seconds.

I am not sure how to achieve this, I have a road near my home which has been one way for over 4 years but the maps still list it as 2 way. I put an avoid on it but cannot see how to make it only closed outbound. I know that TT had the ability very finely to do such things, but not the 2599??

I think that is on a per trip basis John. There is no Mapshare easy road editing available, it all has to be done online and wait for someone to look at it.

You can set a permanent custom avoidance. To avoid a road one way only make sure the start is at the beginning of the road in the direction of the way you don't want to travel.

You should find custom avoidances under Settings, Navigation, Custom Avoidances.

Test complete.

I just had the approach set loaded and worked as expected. Just a single warning of a camera.
No additional warning(s) if you are still overspeed but with a short approach time I can live with that.

. I still haven't mastered the non toll road route yet, so am hoping the routing is similar to what I am used to. Fingers crossed!!

Not knowing your situation marksfish, but I just bought my Nuvi through amazon.de, purchased with a Uk credit card delivered to an address in Spain. Saved myself quite a bit with the exchange rate as it is at the moment.

I know the way using the toll road and my old unit took me quite a nice way to avoid the toll. I hadn't quite got used to the nice new route I was using before changing units. I'm hoping the Nuvi will use a similar routing when I go, as it will be dark and landmarks will be difficult to see. So long as it gets me there, I don't have a problem, as long as it doesn't take longer :0

Then you can check the route before you go, either on your nuvi or using BaseCamp. I never follow my nuvi blind if I'm able to check the route beforehand.
