Hi guys
My 1005 caravan and camper will just not update or should I say connect to pc, laptops ! Tried all the usual tricks from cach clearing, port changing, different isp's removing firewalls, new cable, resets
Reckon it's time to change it!
So are there any TomTom units avail that will allow installing the poi based camera files? Has live?
My old 750 go live, was prob the best unit I've had minus the van truck option, but the screens goosed on that and has a mind of its own,
Any ideas on best useable replacements please?
Also have a garmin dezl760lmt but don't like the traffic lack of display on map screen and camera database works but no voice
Shame these new TT6100's won't work with the camera database
Hi porge. Currently there are no new TTs that support 3rd party POI's including speed camera positions, at least, not in anyway that is remotely useful.
Being totally frustrated with TT and this latest, much awaited, yet completely useless addition, I have just purchased a Garmin nuvi 2599LMT-D.
I'm yet to use it in anger but I can already see that it has many of the features sadly missing from TT's present range.
ETA - OOPs!, Sorry, just realised that you are talking about Camper Specific PND's, The 2599 isn't one.
But it remains. No current TT use POI's as we would like. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

I use the van functions keeps off the very narrow streets but that option is not the end of the world if I don't have it, rather have a working unit that I can update,
Incidentally have you managed to put the cam database on your garmin with spoken words?
I use a conversion tool avail on here to convert the downloaded files to is it gpx files or something then upload using gRmins uploader program, it works but no voices?
Ok, out of chance I had a go at connecting unit to a new laptop today, just to check, downloaded my drive, and unit using the new lead still won't connect
I haven't attempted to install the cam database and voice warnings yet, I always like to get used to using a new device in its natural state before I start changing things, but that is just me.
There are many posts here to confirm that it is possible, I just haven't got round to it yet. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

I have a start 60 with the Camping and Caravan map on it. I to recently had this problem it turned out to be a faulty socket in the Start 60, it is recessed and a pain to try to connect the cable, this is not the first time, it was repaired by TT under warranty and since then I made the decision not to use the traffic receiver and leave the usb cable permanently connected. I am a service engineer and often go into areas that require I remove it from the windscreen this puts stress on the cable and socket. I bought the socket from ebay and took it to a local repairer bought a new cable also. This time I have put bluetack around the socket and cable to support it so far so good cheaper than a replacement
