Where is the best place to get a replacement battery for my Garmin 2460?
When I phoned Garmin support they told me that its not possible to replace the batteries on their Sat Navs. I asked about the 3598 that I have recently purchased and was told the same thing. It seems very odd not to be able to replace the battery. Has anyone any experience in doing this.
Thanks

I have several Garmins one of which is a 2460. This is the only one that has had battery issues so I wonder if there was a faulty batch.
To answer your question, I got a kit from the net which had the replacement battery and all the tools required to swap it. It didn't work. Sent it back and was sent another one. This didn't work either so I gave up and just use it powered all the time now. |

Thanks for your reply. I thought that may be the case. It works powered up ok. If this is the only Garmin you have had issues with how do you prolong the battery life? Do you run the battery right down occasionally to prolong the battery life?

I have numerous Garmins, one now over 5 years old. I've never taken any particular care of the battery and it and all my other ones still work fine. Guess you were just unlucky. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |
