Do you guys need to be careful here?
Remember each download of the database is individually traceable, so if it gets widely spread in any way, you may be inadvertantly liable to pirating issues! _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

I think you are confusing what I was offering!
I was offering a mapsettings.cfg file as that is what the OP was looking for! |

But BW asked for this, the bold bit is that which you are being warned about (my bold) bw2020 wrote: | Hi I wonder if anyone has a mapsettings.cfg file you could PM me please that has all the UK speedzoned cameras as well as the pmobiles and the Euro speed zoned cameras all set up for TT iPhone? | Your choice! |

Clearly you have no idea of what you are talking about!
The mapsettings.cfg file is what he asked for.
mapsettings.cfg is a single file that contains the settings for amongst other things, the distance away from a specific POI at which to play a specific warning which is usually a .OGG file.
It is not the Pocketgpsworld speed camera database and that is NOT what the OP asked for, nor did I offer it! |

Yeah, OK. I was trying to reply while at work and wasn't concentrating.
I know that on the hardware models the .cfg file only contains the warning settings for the POIs and not the POIs themselves, but as M8TJT pointed out, the wording in that post was a little misleading and I momentarily thought maybe the iPhone app may do things differently (like Apple does everything in odd ways....) _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Thanks Andy!
I have sent the OP the mapsettings.cfg file and instructions on how to install it, so he should now be happy.
I haven't and wouldn't send him or anyone else the database! |

Thanks, that works fine.
(I hadn't expected the the blighters would disable the "warn when near POI" feature!,and didn't copy my config file before flogging my PND) _________________ Tom Tom 1005 v2 World, Garmin Dakota 20, IPhone 4S |

I like above am having problems and it seems to be the mapsettings.cfg file..... I have even used the relevant file from my standalone tt930 with the alert tones but no joy... again I would appreciate if someone can pm the file with all separate cameras for uk. |

Whilst the mapsettings.cfg file does indeed provide audio warnings at a predetermined distance I did not install it on my iPhone,
Instead, I installed the PocketGPSWorld "Speed Zoned Complete" database (.bmp and .ov2 files) so that the cameras appear on the map but I run CamerAlert in the background to provide the actual audio warnings.
If your iPhone allows you to run TomTom as well as CamerAlert at the same time then it is best to use CamerAlert as you can change the settings easily, you get extra alerts if you are over the speed limit, in SPECS zones you get much more information, you can event get CamerAlert to start TomTom for you.
It's just a thought, but you may find that using CamerAlert is easier (and better) than using the mapsettings.cfg file method.
Kind Regards, _________________ Robert.
