Recently, when my 2599 starts up it seems to be very dull. I go into the brightness setting and it's set high. I click on the OK button (or whatever it is) and the birghtness sorts itself out and everything is fine - until the next time I use it.
Has anyone else seen this? Is it something I've done?

'Brightness' on the latest nuvis depends on whether they are powered on or running off battery, and whether yours is set to switch between day and night automatically. The nuvi will start to dim as dusk approaches and brighten towards dawn.
So depending when you set the brightness and whether it's running off battery or not will affect the setting. I know others have had issues with this.
Mine is set to always run on the day setting, so I never see the issue you're having but I know those who have it set to automatic do.
You need to ensure you set it at the various times/power set ups or you will notice differences. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Mine powers up with the car ignition so is always powered by the car. Never had an issue.
Is yours changing brightness levels? _________________ Satnav:

Its in the car and powered by the car.
No the brightness level doesn't change - it just seems to start off very dim until I try and change the level - I don't have to do anything but it just goes to the normal (for me) brightness

Thanks - I'll have a look at the weekend (when I get home).
It did seem to start after I'd done a firmware update, but that could be coincidence as it also ran off the battery for a while.
