I doubt it. My 940 Live has not had map updates for some time now. Not that I mind too much it is still the best TomTom that I have owned. _________________ Mike Barrett |

The older units (pre NAV 3??) simply don't 'exist' anymore in TomTom's eyes. No support, no updates etc.

My 'new' GO700 (that's the 2005 one) is running map v945 and will continue with the map update service for a while yet (can't remember how much longer, probably another 6 or 9 months). _________________ Dennis

No. Map updates have not been available for over a year now. | Are we talking at cross purposes? Last month I added 2 years Map Updates to my backup 940 and a year to an XL Live (which was 5 years out of date - £6.95 bargain!), updating them to v945. _________________ Jock

Not so, Mike...
I'm similar to Denis,
( NO, let me rephrase that! "I have a similar TomTom situation as Dennis" )
I have got the latest map on my GO940 and GO950
It's Europe v945.6174 (2784.7MB according to Home)
And if you meant MAPSHARE updates, I'm still getting those too.
What happens when you try to purchase a new map, either via Home or from the MapShop on the TT website? _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Sorry my mistake it is the LIVE services that will not work on my 940. It needs a return to the service centre for a new SIM. I have a TT GO60 anyway which I use, but cannot use the PGPSW POI databases on it _________________ Mike Barrett |

Ah yes, I seem to remember having to get at least one of my SIM cards replaced in the past.
It might be worth mentioning that you are a technologically adept person with long history of working with TomTom hardware. You may be able to convince them to just send you the new UK SIM card and fit it yourself.
It's a bit fiddly as they buried them so deep in the case, but if you are lucky, when they fitted the original SIM they MAY have added a Sellotape tab to it, so it can be pulled out by tweezers once you have removed the bottom label from the GO.
If not, you need to crack the GO open in the same way as if doing a battery swap to get to the sim slot. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Please would someone, with greater understanding than me, answer the OP's question about MyDrive replacing TomTom Home!
I would also like to know! _________________ Garmin Drivesmart 50 LMT-D App 5.90

Not in our lifetime it won't. Too much like hard work for the TT "techies" for basically "old/obsolete" devices |

| It seems unlikely! Mydrive has been available since Oct 2013 and hasn't been changed to deal with the older models, so I can't see why they would change it now. However, we are talking (guessing) about TomTom, so ... _________________ Jock
